Christians can never gain anything reading the Quran just as they gain nothing reading the Bible.
The Quran says the Bible is a TRICK when it says the Messiah was not crucified but there was a HOAX and that this HOAX is followed by further HOAXES that include Christianity and Jesus and the BIble.
The Bible agrees with the Quran and exposes the Hoax of the crucifixion as two thieves named Jesus by their crosses were crucified after the Messiah was set free.
Read The Age Of Reason and explore the verses of the Bible that expose the beautiful escape of the Messiah from the crucifixion.

theyre allowed to - but muslims' own koran cannot be touched by anyone else. a muslim friend told me that once. the bible is pretty user friendly, its just passed around! personally i think reading any religious texts is a waste of time, but maybe if everyone read everyone else's religious texts they would gain a better understanding about them. could be a good thing if it were encouraged.

They do in Primary Schools.
No less than 40%, no more than 60% of the RE Curriculum must be Christianity - it is inescapable!
Although when I taught Islam to my class of ten year olds, I showed them how to handle the Koran. Wash hands and place it on a stand and store it above head level.
We ought to respect others believes and teach this to our children.

we are unable to read the ORIGINAL bible as it is hidden from us. the Koran is completely unchanged, the Bible has been altered, changed and perverted to suit the misogynistic, secularised and promotional views of all those that had the power and the money. so, who then would really want to read, what in essence, is a biblical novel. Muslims want to read the word of God(ALLAH), not the rewritten word of a man.

Oddly enough the Koran has a lot in common with the Bible, one notable example is they both venerate the Virgin Mary so in reading both one could have a better comparison of the two faiths..

Absolutely. Although it's a religious book, it's also a historical text, and anyone should be free to read it. Also, from the perspective that Christians are supposed to be "recruiters for Christ," they should even encourage those of other religions to read the Bible and study its teachings.

They certainly can Allah has told us to believe in the books sent prior to the Quran. Some people have changed the bible and the torah and the gospel over the years. Allah has sent The Quran as the final Book For Mankind and to Seal any doubts that people have. Also in the bible it states God created Earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th day.. How can God Need rest when He is infinite and nuthing slumbers him.

Before muslims get irritated by my answer, I must inform them, according to WHO, its facts are irrufutable.
The majority of muslims in the 3rd world are uneducated. They are forced to depend upon hearing the message of the koran through its interpretation by their local religious mullah or spiritual leader.
As a consequence of this, the person with some learning has the upper hand, thus able to lead the minds of the people wherever he may choose!

The Quran calls the Bible the Book. And says it's worthy of
reading.
Humans are emotional, and take things to extremes. If one
has any kind of emotional balance. When they read the
Quran. They will see that it's not the Jews and Christians
that it condemns.
It's the prideful aspect of human nature that makes one think
because he follows a certain faith, that he is better than
others.
