If you truly believe in the God of the Bible then you realize that the Bible is His inspired Word. It's a package deal. you cannot believe in the God of the Bible and reject His word.
You can, however believe in a false god and reject the Bible,
or you could understand with your brain that a god exists, and reject the Bible.
but you cannot "truly" believe in your heart that God is God, Jesus is His Son, and our Savior, and reject the Bible.
Nope, can't do it.
My advice to you is to evaluate what you really mean by "truly believe" and go from there. Maybe you should talk to a pastor in your area, or someone that really has accepted Christ so they can explain it to you.

The stories are all true - dinosaurs are absolutely referenced in the bible!! Read Genesis and Job and the Psalms... check out AnswersInGenesis.com and I think you'll truly be amazed. Jesus tells us clearly that we are to believe the scriptures. What kind of God would want you to believe in Him and love Him but would tell you nothing about Himself?? He tells us that the bible is written so that we might know him and He tells us it IS His word! To not believe that is to believe God/Jesus lies! Remember, the only way to really know God is through His word and we're clearly told on judgement day there will be many who THINK they are going to heaven and know God and Jesus will say "Away from me, I never knew you" God bless you as you seek the Truth. ~Nise~

I cant help but agree with etilyad

I think a lot of those stories were made up by the Romans to make Christianity the mainstream religion, by appealing to the majority who were pagan or influenced by Greek mythology.

People that believe those bible stories literally are kind of weak. Those stories have been spun, re-written, re-told, lost, found, made-up, etc for hundreds and thousands of years. How can anyone really believe they happened. They are used to manipulate simple minded people. It's working!!

In as much as I was not around to see how everything came into being (and neither were you),I say, "I don't know ..... YET!" To assume that some god, my less than intellectual ancestors made up, instantaneously farted the universe into being, is absurd
