Nikki,
I have naturally wavy hair too and it is very difficult to tame! Make sure you are getting it cut regularly. Every 4-6 weeks is best. The less split ends, the less frizz. Also make sure you are conditioning every day!! The best conditioner is found in the hair dying boxes! I don't dye my hair, but I still by it for the conditioner. If you decide to layer it, you need to understand that you have to style it or it will look terrible. I use Biosilk to ease the frizz....Good Luck!

See a good stylist (usually one that costs a bit) for a good evaluation and trim. They will probably thin out at least some of the hair to give it a better shape and an easier to manage style.

Your best bet is to, when it is wet and if you don't want to or don't have time to blow dry it, pull your hair back in a real severe ponytail. If you have time to dry it, using a round brush (on any length hair) pull the hair out straight as you dry that section and you may see that it will not be totally straight but will be straighter than what is normally is. Also, if you use mousse in your hair or alot of hair products don't put anything in it when it is wet because it brings out more volume.

you can try putting braids or twist in your hair when it's still wet. And then take them out once it's dry. Then you just kinda finger style the hair to loosen the sections. That will help define the wave pattern & sort of tame it.

the cheapest way is probably to use oil! i heard olive oil is gd but if u dunt like the smll u can use johnson's baby oil. just drop a couple of drops on ur plam and then run ur hairs thru ur hair. it really tames it down!

go to a hair place and have them "angle and layer it". I always had alot of thick hair and it was hard to do anything with it....they cut it right bellow my shoulders and angled it with layers (does away with puffyness) spray some gel if you then want it to curl (garnier makes some good hair products), or just blow dry it flat....the gel does help to style it

Use Sunsilk, the kind that hellps with frizzy or wavy hair. It works very well.

I would ask your hairdresser to thin it out for you. The style will be better and you will find it easier to manage.
