Does anyone know how they get salt into peanuts that are still in the shell?

Was eating some last night and couldn't figure it out..Do they soak in salt water first or what?

The peanuts are soaked in a brine-like solution and the liquid leeches through the shell of the peanut. When the peanut is roasted, still in the shell, the liquid evaporates leaving the salt.
