I'll help you out. There's a really simple pasta recipe which you can have ready in about 5 minutes using fresh pasta, and you only have to do any work for about 3 of those 5; I'll explain it in simple terms making no assumptions. I'm not insulting your intelligence, I'm just demonstrating how simple it is:
Ingredients to serve two:
180g (7 oz) fresh (or dried) pasta
1 tub mascarpone cheese
3 tsp (heaped) pesto
1. Boil a kettle of water
2. Measure your pasta and stick it in a pan on the hob
3. While the kettle boils, put the mascarpone (all of it) into a pan (non stick if possible) on low heat on the hob
4. Pour in your boiling water from the kettle (with the hob on) and boil it. If you bought fresh pasta it'll take 3 minutes, if not, dried pasta will take maybe 12 minutes. Stick on a timer for the appropriate amount of time.
4. Let the mascarpone melt - it won't take long and on a low heat it won't burn or stick so you don't need to stir it.
5. When the mascarpone is melted, add the pesto and stir it in. You can leave this on the heat until you're ready to serve up.
6. When the timer goes off, drain the pasta in a colander and serve to plates or pasta bowls.
7. Pour over your cheese and pesto sauce.
So easy - takes no time at all and the washing up is very simple.
If you'd like to take it to the next level, you can buy some pine nuts and dry fry a handful of those in a pan with no oil or fat - high heat until the go golden brown, then take them out before they burn. You can prepare those at the same time as the pasta and sauce are on the go, then sprinkle those over the top of your finished dish.
I hope this helps. If you don't like pasta... sorry.

Go to your local market or supermarket. Buy some crunchy fresh bread, some new potatoes, and whatever salad veggies you like, which smell, feel and look really good. Then go the the cheese section/stall, and get a lovely looking piece of cheese (or do the same in the fish section if you prefer - tuna or salmon are what I'd recommend). Then when you're at home, wash & boil those potatoes in some salted water, drain and pop in some butter or a drizzle of olive oil and some cracked black pepper (or ground will do). Wash and chop the veggies as you like, and slice the cheese, or fry the fish in a little oil, drizzling with a bit of white wine, or lemon juice. Butter some bread, and serve! Good ingredients, simply cooked are the key!

Baked salmon
1. Buy salmon fish (the ones that come packed and cleaned already) and Kraft's Sun-dried Tomatoes and Oregano dressing.
2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
3. Slice fish into medium sizes.
4. Sprinkle salt to fish.
5. Put fish over a baking pan and flood (as in flood!) with Kraft's Sun-dried Tomatoes and Oregano dressing.
6. Put inside oven.
7. Surf the net or take a shower or do whatever you have to do just checking it every 30 minutes or so.
8. Turn fish so both sides will be cooked.

Spaghetti With Chilli and Garlic
Serves 2
Ingredients
8 oz (225 g) spaghetti or linguine
4 tablespoons Italian extra virgin olive oil
2 fat cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
1 fat red chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
salt and freshly milled black pepper
Begin by putting the pasta on to cook. Then, just heat the olive oil in a small frying pan and, when it is hot, add the garlic, chilli and some freshly milled black pepper. Cook these very gently for about 2 minutes, which will be enough time for the flavourings to infuse the oil.
When the pasta is cooked, return it to the saucepan after draining, then pour in the hot oil. Mix well, then serve straight away on warmed pasta plates.

Without meaning to sound sexist, if you google something along the lines of "recipes for men" you should get a few good easy recipes. A lot of the books aimed at men do contain quite basic recipes, as it's the stereotypical view that men don't cook and can't cook, so need simple recipes with simple ingredients and step-by-step instructions.
This of course doesn't explain why the vast majority of top chefs are male.

For a Main I woudl recommend a stir fry with some strips of chicken, carrots and red peppers. Slice it all up into strips and throw the chicken into a wok till starts to colour and then throw in the veg. Add some light soy sauce and herbs and some pine nuts too and makes a lovely stir fry. best eaten in wraps i think!
Then for dessert make truffles. 175ml double cream and 200g plain chocolate. Heat the cream till boiling and pour over the chocolate to melt it. Mix it all together and leave it to set overnight. then scoop out small amounts of the mix and roll into balls and then roll in coca, icing sugar or chocloate strands. Easy adn very yummy!

put 4 chicken breasts in a oven dish. (literally) throw 2 tubs of cherry tomatoes over them. shake some olive oil and white wine vinegar over the tomatoes and then a dusting of mixed herbs.
throw in the oven 190*c for 40-50 mins.
the chicken comes out all tender. some of the tomatoes and herbs make a lovely sauce and the rest of the tomatoes swell up all juicy.
best served with crusty bread and salad.
