I have 7 puppies that mama weaned early, Tried can food, wetted puppy chow, & the milk replacement formula on food & tried just giving em the milk in a dish, I haven't tried to bottle feed yet.. Just tried to give em moist kitten food hope they like that. It's just that the mama refuses 2 let em nurse but wants 2 stay with em. Therefore it makes the babies sqwal bad becuz she won't let em touch her. The soft can food works great except its giving them diarrea. Called the vet & they R the 1's who told me 2 get purina puppy chow & milk replacement but thats not doin the job they don't want it. They're still very chubby & healthy & active but I need any advice on what 2 feed em or give em so I can feed em canned food or whatever without them getting diarrea or anything I just need 2 B able 2 feed em. Desperate give any advice u can please

Take Momma away from the for a few hours, try them with the purina again(hunger is a great gravy) Without Momma there they may be more intrested-Check Mom for irritation she may be sore and thats why she isn't nursing-maybe she'll be more intrested after a couple of hours separation. Check your neighbourhood somebody may have a nursing dog with a small little you can foster to!! Good Luck!! BTW they are going to be great dogs!!!

Puppy Chow with a little bit of milk and then microwaved for about 10 seconds. If they are about 6 weeks old, they should be weened off their mother's milk anyways. The vet told you the right thing, but the dogs are more inclined to eat something warm. If you weren't microwaving it, it makes sense that they wouldn't want it. The puppies have been eating their mother's milk and it served at a warm 100 degrees.

The puppy food is what they need - bear in mind that they are babies and you need to be very clean even sterile when making up their food. The stuff I got when my female dog (it asterisks out the correct word) had pups was a powder and you had to add water to make it up. Use only boiled water and make sure that the pups are kept in a clean environment. Make sure the mother is healthy and not having any problems with her milk as I think its unusual for her to not want to feed the pups yet she has not rejected them. To get the pups to eat the food, put some on your fingers and put it into their mouths - they should eat it once they get the taste. **yes - it's important the food is warm - blood heat

This is what we do starting at 4 weeks with our puppies. Take hard puppy foos and put it in a blender to chush it up real fine. Then you can either use the puppy milk or water and blend that with it. You will need to make it real watery to start out with. They need to be able to lick it up. Next week make it a little thicker. I wouldn't worry about the poop, If mom is still going in with them but not feeding them she still should be cleaning up after them, but she won't keep doing it for much longer, so you will have to be cleaning up too. You also need to offer water now too. Good Luck!
I wouldn't mind seeing pics of them if you have some :)

Like the vet said - puppy chow and milk replacement. Let it sit and absorb the milk and get soft then offer it to the puppies. You may have to put a bit in their mouth to start with but when they get hungry enough they will eat it.

When I tried feeding early weaned pups I gave them dry kitty food but mixed it with warm water to soften it to to where they could almost drink it by licking it. You may want to try this. If they don't lick it you may have to put it on your finger and feed it that way until they get the idea that this is food. I never gave them milk. A friend told me of this several years ago and it did seem to help.

our pup was really young when we got her, 6-8 weeks (they didnt know exactly). she wouldnt eat dry food so we added a little water to it to soften it. she loved it. within a week she was eating half a small can with some kibble and she's doing very well. she's tripled in size and is now 15 weeks old. i would suggest getting some very small kibble, add some water or chicken/beef broth and putting it in the microwave for about 15 seconds. make sure its not too hot for them. warm is good. it should soften it, and the smell should make them want to try it more.

Maybe you should get them to the Vet so that he can do a proper check up.
