Revelation 3:14 "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. 15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. 19Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. 20Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.".
From the description it seems to correspond.

I believe that every church should identify itself particularly in a letter even if it isn’t wrong to consider them all. However, this is the only one of the seven letters that doesn't present the praise of the Lord, anyway, we have to admit that it adds: “19Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.”.

In my opinion, however, those that today are considering themselves the only church universally recognized by the Lord (as for instance, the Catholic one) are wrong, right from the begining, because the Lord announces His return to the churches, that’s why I think that sustaining to be the only church means admiting that Jesus has already returned.

If the shoe fits,wear it!

This passage applies to many Christians and Christian groups in today's world, as well as many others, throughout the ages.

No Christian group has been always on fire or always luke warm.

People change. Times change. Persecutions arise or receed.

The church is dynamic.

In the end, Jesus said this of the only universal Church he ever founded:

Mat 16:18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Mat 28:18 And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth.
Mat 28:19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations: baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

Divine revelation is a fantasy. that's the reason any denomination can lay declare to a “new” revelation. there's no such element. Neither the Catholic Church nor the Mormon Church is the genuine Church. a real church is one that reflects the prefer of God. with the intention to ascertain this you may first ought to coach a God exists, after which you may ought to coach that he communicated specific truths on your specific church. so a ways, in the 2000 365 days historic previous of Christendom, no person has been able to do this, devoid of resorting to the line that “you in basic terms have been given to believe.”

Catholics don't believe we are the only righteous ones. I do admit that some do, but then again, does a small few represent the whole bunch? I believe that, no offense meant to anyone, but it applies to churches like The Mormons, Jehovahs' Witnesses, those weird cults in the west, and The Westboro Baptist Church.

You need to read chapter 17 of revelation to identify which group the church of rome falls into. She no doubt is part of Babylon the great who has a kingdom over the kings of the earth.

I believe so...but it has a duality, as lots of other scriptures in the Bible. It can also mean that it is a message to us as individuals. If we place our importance on material things we have in this lifetime, we may fall into this category, as well.
But basically, as a whole, it reflects some of the attitudes of The Holy Roman Empire, and of any church that places wealth, false doctrines, and other earthly possessions above the true Church of God, which is made up of those who follow and love Jesus...

A query for the Catholic respondents.
(Matthew 16:18) Also, I say to you, You are Peter, and on this rock-mass I will build my congregation, and the gates of Ha′des will not overpower it.
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.
If 'Hades' is a permanent place of torment, how come it will be cast into the ' lake of fire'
Its the same ' lake of fire' that Satan will be cast into...Rev. 20;10...
Which one is the hot place?

You may not be aware but we Catholics do not claim we are the only ones going to Heaven. All Christians are part of the Church. We are brothers and sisters in Christ.

I believe this not to be one church or faith today, but the age we're in. I think most churches are getting warm, not on fire as they should. This is why I believe this identifies the period or age we are in.
