Do all christians use rosary beads? I was thinking of some kind of philosophical book if you can think of any?

A philosophcal book? The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis. I wouldn't even restrict it to Christians because it's an entertaining read--it's a demon writing home to Hell about the people whose lives he's ruining. It'll likely run you less than ten pounds unless you find it in hardcover, so to round it out, if you like, I'd recommend Lewis' Mere Christianity as well (nonfiction and even more philosophical). Over here I've seen them in some nice box sets that aren't too pricey.

I've just received details of something which I think any Christian would like to have:

Hope Everlasting is a wonderful new 365-day devotional. It includes Bible readings and prayers from six popular issues of Every Day with Jesus:

. Preparing for Revival
. The Crimson Trail of Scripture
. The Cross in Modern Life
. Faith - Thriving Under Persecution
. The Divine Gardener
. The Letters of James and John

This attractive pocket-sized book is undated, so can be used any time and anywhere and makes an ideal gift.

Price: £6.99

It is available from www.cwrstore.org.uk. And there'd be enough left in the kitty for a bunch of flowers too!

If she is a Catholic christian it is OK the rosary beads. But if she an Evangelical christian a NIV study bible would be nice or a christian novel such as Angel walk or Eternal Security are you sure? by Charles Stanley.

I would suggest a framed text. Some suggestions are:-

The Warfare Prayer
Footsteps
Quotes from St Francis of Assissi & others
The Serenity Prayer

Get her the book He Chose The Nails by Max Lucado. It was simply profound. I have read it a couple of times and it just brings me more in touch with Jesus each time. Or you could get a pretty bible cover or a prayer shawl.

Maybe a different Bible translation, or a "Left Behind" series book. If there is a Christian bookstore around, look there.

Go to a Christian store and pick something out - anything really. I love everything there and she probably will too.
