Thomas Edison made a remark once, quite similiar to that : "I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work".

Every experience is a learning experience, whether we succeeded in our attempt, or failed at it. But it is this very testing process, the cause of our experience, that makes us learn. It makes us learn if what we did was the right way, or the wrong way.

You gain experience from testing. Regardless of whether the results are good or bad. You're gaining knowledge.
