i am not sure what your question is meaning by "artificial sand"

I work in a gravel pit and we "make" our sand here by using a machine called a Dredge. It sucks out the rocks and sand from the bottom of a lake and then it goes up through a machine we call Cedar Rapids where it gets washed off. Then it goes further down the belts where they fall through different screens until it can't fit through anymore and it then falls into that size of rocks big pile. So technically we do make our own sand but yet it is already in the lake so we aren't making it. Guess you could say we are just pulling and seperating it. And yes there are atleast 5 different kinds of sand that we have here. I have never heard of artificial sand.

I hope this helps some. If you have further questions, please feel free to email me!!

is tat what you mean?
when you dig the bottom of a river in order to get sand/pebbles, you destroy the valuable natural habitat of the water , river bottom and river bank organisms and you mess up with the watercourse

therefore it is better to used fine gravel when possible - crush solid stone to required grit (you call this artificial sand?), or simply get sand from elsewhere - pit quarries, not river bottoms
