when it comes to our children in our country, and some are being neglected, like mentally challenged children, a person that has some what custody of a child like this just lets them go and they crap in the floor and eats rocks and strings and etc, and you know the person that has custody of this child should you turn them in for neglect on that child or just keep quite and let it go thinking in the long run someone will eventually find out? This child barely knows she is in the world to a certain extint, she is not really a family member to this person and the person just has temporary custody of said child but this child really needs a one on one help which she doesnt get there is alot that could be done for her but isnt, she is a very loving child but has so many issues and her own mother couldn't even handle her she would put her in a room and turn the knob around backwards and lock it from outside to keep her out of stuff. she eats anything and everything she can....

We just had a horrible case in my part of the world. Foster parents tied the boy in a closet for a weekend while they went away. Upon returning they burned his body and put the remains in the river. They then claimed he was ABDUCTED and had an all out search.
Point is, if someone had seen and reported something earlier his life might have been saved. You never know what goes on behind closed doors. Report what you do know or suspect. If more people did innocent lives could be saved.

if you think the child is in danger or neglected in some way you must ring the authorities and talk to them. They will come out and investigate the situation. At least you can put your worries to bed and believe that you have done the right thing for the child. Never turn a blind eye on something you feel is wrong

This sounds like the child is doing things directly related to its mental condition. A lot of those things happen with a severe mentally disabled child. And there is a medical condition where people eat everything they can get their hands on, they can't help it. If you have concerns I would first discuss them with the current caregiver. Like I said the above items sound like they could be related to a specific medical condition. If talking to the person does not satisfy you, then I would maybe talk with social services as it sounds like the above caregiver is a foster parent???

Neglect i am not sure
Although i wouldn't let ANY child crap on the floor or eat rocks and string.
The state needs to take care of the child.
If the state takes custody of the child, the child can receive more help then anyone can give.
Although i am not a fan of institutions, they are a place one can receive help.

When you talk about the safety of a child, then ring the necessary people. There are so many people that never say anything, and those children suffer so much. At the very least, Social Services will investigate the claims. You can remain anonymous. If you don't act on your gut feelings, then you will always feel guilty about not doing anything.

That you are asking shows how bothered you are about the poor child's situation. They way you describe it, I am extremely bothered too! If I were you, I would call the proper authorites for a welfare check on this child. The first to call I think will be the local police, who will come to check the situation and from there, they will contact child welfare services.

I think that you should definately turn this person in. There is no excuse in the world to treat a child like that, especially one that is mentally challanged. How people can treat kids like that is far beyond my understanding. This precious baby needs to be in a home where they will love and take care of her the way she needs to be taken care of. Please do not sit back and wait for someone else to do something about this. If you are worried about what this person will think of you for turning them in, don't. Just think of the good that you will be doing for that child.

the best way to answer your question is this...would you allow your child to live like this. the answer is going to be no.. I don't understand why you even ask this question. call the police. you don't have to give your name. if you have concerns about being found out then talk to the school principle of said child. but do not sit there and do nothing this child is a human and deserves the best parents not some one who neglects them..

each and every time I see their faces on television i'm getting this staggering urge to toss some thing on the show, yet as my television fee over a grand I even have resisted the temptation. they are an exceedingly undesirable occasion of even complication-unfastened those with as lots feeling as a 5 week previous mushroom, and confident I want they might go away or a minimum of carry out a little penitentiary time for newborn forget.

I would turn them in. I have children and I would hope and pray that someone would look out for them if something happened to me. A child is so precious regardless of handicap or not. They aren't here to be left and not taken care of. I wouldn't want the guilt hanging over my head either if something worse happened and I could've prevented it. To me, those that see it and don't help are just as guilty as the ones doing it.
