OK keep in mind this is my opinion, and i will be blunt. it is because of what they were taught, as children this is what they are taught to believe, this is what the churches teach with out coming straight out and saying it. i have been to a few different churches....they all have the same bases. they are afraid to open there minds and think as one person instead of fallowing the group. people do what they are taught, until they open their mind, heart and spirit completely, and learn to except what is really true. but there are gods, and goddesses and ghosts, spirits and so on.
blessed be

I think your wording is a little offensive but I'll answer your question the best I can. I know for me I respect all religions and I don't have to agree with them to understand that other's beliefs are as strong as my own. You are entitled to your opinion and NO I'm not paranoid or afraid. If you are worshipping God and believe that Jesus is your personal savior I have no problem with your other beliefs, having said that read a bible sometime you'll learn why people believe what they believe. NIV is a good bible because it is in wording that modern people can understand better. God says not to judge others so if you're talking about true Christians, they're not judging you or anyone else. Easy to say hard to do.

Speaking as a Christian, I believe everyone has an opinion that is valid to at least the owner of it. My opinion may not be valid to you but it is to me and vise versa. My faith in God is strong enough that I can take the heat in the kitchen if someone else questions it or belittles it. I have the ability to walk away from truly offensive people so there is no need to get offended. If you let someone offend you by saying something against your beliefs then either your beliefs are not as strong as you think they are or you are not strong enough to know that when someone offends you, you have already given them the upper hand. They have then controlled your emotions. I am neither afraid nor paranoid. You do your thing and I'll do mine and we should be able to get along just fine.

I'm not afraid of your opinion and I dont think you an heartless oaf either. you ask why Christians are paranoid i ask why non-Christians generalize all Christians with perhaps a person they have met that treated them poorly. This is the first time I have ever spoke with you and already you have generalized me with others. Not every person calling themselves christian are.

That is an overly broad statement and only , at best partially true, anymore than "Why do Muslims try to kill everyone?" There are some Christians that think that way, but guess what, they would think that way about anything THEY believe in.
As a Christian, I have nothing to fear or be paranoid about!

They have this so internalized that they don't even realize they're doing it. It comes from the belief that Christians and only Christians have the one truth. Anything else is evil. They are indoctrinated from birth to believe that and that's why they act as they do.

I don't believe that. I believe I have every right to be here, voicing my opinion and sharing my knowledge just as you do. I have found several people with whose opinions are completely the opposit of mine, who I respect and look forward to hearing from. I firmly believe in learning all I can about all religions and beliefs.

Good questions. I've wondered this myself. I noticed the very first answer starts off good and then ends with the typical "you are deceived" as if what you just posted doesn't mean anything because you are "deceived". Don't they see this?

I honestly don't believe that about anyone else.
I am not afraid or ashamed of what I believe in.
I do enjoy hearing things from other perspectives.
Peace.
