I can't decide which one would be a better value to purchase as a used model, 2001-2004.

The chevy did not recieve the duramax until 2003. The 04 and up fords have the 6.0L powerstroke as opposed to ye old 7.3L. Both the Duramax and the Powerstroke are great engines but i'm gonna have to lean to Ford side becuase of the much heavier duty Chassis and Ride quality.

The 01 and 02 Superduty will be the far superior truck 03 and 04
are a toss up... though the Ford is much more popular....

If the chevy has a duramax diesel, stay away from it.
Otherwise, overall I like the ford, personally.

chevy all the way!!! they are the most reliable vehicles out there.
