You need a total lifestyle change if you want to keep it off. If you go back to your old ways, you will of course gain back off of your weight.

Eat lots of fruits, veggies, chicken, whole grains, low fat milk/yogurt.
3 small meals and 2 small snacks per day to keep your metabolism going.

Exercise 5 days a week, do cardio and lift weights (free weights or weight machine circuit.) Try joining your local gym, group exercise classes are a blast and make the time go by much faster.

When you plateau and stop losing weight, you need to push yourself harder.

You didn't put the weight on overnight, so you won't lose it overnight.

why are people so obsessed with weight, it's body fat% you should be thinking of. I am 2 stone heavier than i was 1 year ago, but my body fat % is 15% lower than it was. This is due to incease in muscle mass.
I can see you thinking "i dont want to have big muscles". Well a pound of fat takes up 10 times the space a pound of muscle does. So when you gain muscle you will lose fat and shrink in size.
Regular exercise including weight training will have your body buring fat and building muscle and you would notice a big difference after only 6 weeks.
So never mind the scales, jump on a set of body mass scales and concentrate on lowering your fat%

I know how you feel. I have struggled with this problem most of my adult life. I walk three times a day, weather permitting. I do not eat junk food, I eat lots of high fiber food, plenty of vegetables, fish, chicken or turkey, drink green, white or regular tea, and lots of water. I also find things to do that interest me, such as reading, puzzles (both jig saw and word), and make sure I mingle with other people. One thing that really helps me is singing in my choir. May sound odd to some people, but it really helps keep me focused. It is not easy to lose weight, and then, when you do lose, you have to struggle every day to keep it off. I wish you luck - been there, done that. Still doing it!!

It is an attitude. It is a mindset. However, you have to ease into it. Most people fail in losing weight because they make abrupt changes in their eating patterns.

Your body is stronger than your mind. It is used to doing certain things at certain times and eating is one of them. So you have to create new habits and attitudes in the process of making changes.

I have lost 33.5 pounds (15.2 kg) since July 15, 2006 by using Stack Body Tune Up. The secret to using any supplement is to allow it to work and to modify your diet and exercise in response as you lose the weight and gain the energy. When you approach your target weight, you wean yourself from the supplement. By that time, you should have new habits and new attitudes, and hopefully a smaller stomach.

If I can be of further assistance, let me know.

Running is great exercise for your legs and builds sexy muscles! Biking gets rid of celulite on thighs. Pullups and pushups get you muscles on your arms. Crunches-200 a day to lose it. If your abs hurt in next few days-great job! If not, work harder. Good luck!!♥
