Why am I so madly in love with my ex who's a 100% bada**?
He's 11 years older than me, but I was the caregiver in the relationship. I know there're nice guys out there, but I don't feel this way about others. I adore him like mad but eventually, I couldn't take any more of his nonsense so we broke up. I miss him and I wonder how's he doing now.

It IS possible. You can fall in love with anyone at anytime. Love is unpredictable. The thing you have to remember though is that you have to do whats best for you. Even if you love a guy, if he's not a positive influence on your life, maybe you shouldn't continue the relationship. Think about a future with the "guy of your choice" and think, how is he going to support me and my kids? You don't want someone who's going to become a deadbeat dad and or sells/uses drugs, or anything like that. He's got to be able to take care of those he loves.
The caregiving must be equal, or things will fall apart eventually.

well yes it is.I use to be with such a guy and people use to tell me all the time of the dastardly deeds he had done and although i cringed at their words i always felt that as long as he was good to me so what.Something about this man I just loved.Well eventually he screwed me just like he screwed others and that truly bothered me and I felt that I was no better to him than a stranger so I left him. I often wonder how he is but I know that where ever he is he is causing chaos and I am glad that his chaos isn't apart of my life anymore.I think of him,but i would never allow him inside my space again,even if he screamed change b/c I love him too much to end up hating him,and i definately love myself too much to put my heart in the hands of so careless a man.I loved him,but I don't want him.

u're not in love.
you're just trapped by the obsessive need to know and find an answer as to why things din work out.
That's not loving him. That's just u being curious.
Same for how u're wondering how he's doing. You just want to know. But it really doesnt and won't matter to you.
Stay away from this very bad man, alright!

if u really love him then go tell him everything about how u fell.
and also tell him that u broke up with with him only cause he is bad person.
then if he loves u he might try to become a nice person and u could help him too.

It happens very often. Love makes people blind. I had such experiences, and my friends also. I liked a guy who was indifferent and even mean to me, I loved sb 25y older than me thought he probably thought I am a young silly blond... Well, happens, happens...

well i don't know why is it so but i too know some similar casess, a lady lives in out society who is married but is in love with another man, this man beats her in public, call her ill names and demands money from her. Despise of all this she is in love with her. Maybe this is why it is said Love is blind.
