I am getting zapped left right and centre whenever its warm and sunny and I go out anywhere. Everytime I get out the car, when I touch anyone, even when I reach out for a tin of catfood at the supermarket. Any good ideas?

Simply spray yourself with Static Guard or wipe yourself(clothing) with a fabric softener sheet. Works.

In winter, we always have this problem. The most obvious answer would be to avoid clothing made with fabrics which can easily generate static from friction (polyester, nylon, wool, etc). Cotton is always a good choice.

Hair is also another place where static can easily generate. Use a conditioner that adds moisture to the hair and avoid hair dryers, excessively harsh soaps, or anything else that can dry hair.

These two alone will probably get you started in the right direction. The key to stopping the problem is figuring out what is causing the static and getting rid of that, whatever it is.
