You should see your local G.P about this. Dont think you will be wasting their time, that is what they are there for.

i dont think you can really be too paranoid. as my gp says, the parents usually always know more than them when something is not quite right. we spend so much time cuddling and caring for our kids that we are very aware of changes. being a cautious parent is different to a panicky one. try to keep calm. my little one has had a cyst on her right eyebrow since birth. she saw a specialist a couple of times who advised us to surgically remove it, but by 2 and a half its pretty much shrunk to nothing. most lumps are cysts. be assured by that, but it is still good that you have an appointment. always check things out. you dont want to regret not acting on your intuition. all the best

My daughter developed the same thing when she was a baby. I got so scared and was so sure it was something horrible. I took her right in to her Pediatrician and they told me it was a lymph node, very common. In fact she still has that little bump but it hasn't moved or gotten bigger, and every time we've moved or gotten a new Dr. I ask them and they all tell me the same thing. It's still good for your Dr. to see it, but really, it's most likely a lymph node.

You have done the right thing by making an appointment, that is the only way to know for sure. It could be completely normal but is always best to have it checked especially if you haven't noticed it before.

Hope it is all ok for your daughter.

It sounds like her glands are swollen. I found a pea sized lump on the back of my sons head behind his ear a few weeks ago & when I saw my doc he said it was swollen glands. And the next day he was full of cold!

You are doing the right thing
If it is irritating then it needs sorting
It is most likely to be completely harmless, a fatty lump, sebaceous cyst, lymph node or similar.

Best to take her to the doc but it sounds like a gland. Has she been unwell? Glands become more pronounced when fighting infection. But it is a worry when you become aware of one for the first time.

You are never paranoid when it comes to the health and wellbeing of your children.

However, like a previous person to answer, I also have a lymph node which has been with me all my life.

don't worry honestly. my daughter had the same and the doctor said it was just inflamed gristle and it will always be there, that was 2 years ago and it is still there now, she is 4 now. take her to the doctors anyway to put your mind at ease but i doubt there is anything wrong. but i am not a doctor
