Just because abortion is legal doesn't mean it isn't a sin. There are plenty of things in the world that are legal that are sinful. Beyond that, abortion has destroyed about 40 million unborn people in the U.S. in the past 35 years and has put us on a pretty bad course in the next 30 years after the "Generation X" kids start to retire. Social Security will be long gone and because we've aborted so many would-be taxpayers, it will be a huge strain on the U.S. economy to have more people retiring than will be coming into the workforce. My parents' generation wanted abortion on demand and they got it. Now my generation and the one that's following us are going to have a very uncertain financial future because of what abortion has done to our country. It's not going to be pretty.

it must remain legal regardless of being a sin or not, its legality is not a religious issue, PERIOD.
wether you do it or not, is your personal choice, which may be religious if you so chose.
btw theres a verse in the OT, I can't remember exactly which.... which basically legalizes abortion for the time. (it allows 2 men to conspire, for a pregnant woman to be beaten and lose the pregnancy, and it be up to the husband wether the agressor is fined or not, as long as the woman survives)
>>"you kill an unborn child, even an embryo, you deserve punishment.
a life is a life."<<
so you are a vegetarian, correct?
don't forget no eggs allowed either... if your not vegetarian, and exclude eggs as well, then you are being profoundly hypocritical to say that.

In Islam, killing a soul is haram. Scientifically the embryo becomes a soul after 40 days of pregnancy. It is OK to go for abortion before the fetus is 40 days old, however, it is not recommended unless there is a need to because you are killing a soul to be.
After 40 days of pregnancy, it is haram to do abortion unless there is a life-threatning case to the mother or the baby.
This is as far as I know.

As far as the Bible , yes it is a sin, but as far as a woman getting raped, and comes up pregnant, I and I said I do not think is a sin to do and abortion.
To each his own. God, not you or I , is the want that will judge at the end.

Sin and legality are completely different things, even though they may sometimes mirror each other.

The Catholic church recognizes it as a sin. Then again they think everything is a sin.
