Why does the law have to go through so many processes when dealing with illegal immigrants? The word is illegal therefore they should not be here therefore why are they not sent straight back without any court case. If you are illegal you should not be here it is done everyday on the US Mexican border.

Unfortunately the legislature has made immigration law so complex even the lawyers have trouble deciphering it.

Uk law is complex at the best of times but the authorities still have to follow the process and address each issue as it is raised.

The problem arises mainly with illegals who commit crimes here but cannot be sent back because they fear torture or some such ill treatment and it would be a breach of THEIR human rights to send them home.

This creates an impass. In such a case my attitude would be that they should have thought of that before they committed the offences. It should be made clear that they will be sent home no matter what the consequences if they commit crimes in the UK.

This would probably make most of them think twice about committing crime in the UK.

The issue of an offence by entering the UK illegally is correct. It is an offence. Send them home.

The issue is only important because Bush obviouly needs us to stop looking at the other messes he is involved with. His support drops so he focuses our attention on a fictional "real" problem. Hitler used the Jews the same way... scapegoat and divert. 99% of the people in America are descended from immigrants, and ask any Native American how many people originally fleeing from other countries requested permission to come here. Being born in America is a random thing we just get handed to us because someone else already did all the difficult work for us, but these "illegal" people are willing to earn their place here and sacrifice everything to simply have the chance at a better life... so which is worse, whiny Americans too selfish to help anyone else, or people willing work for almost nothing to just to be here? Modern America has become what it used to fight against... I mean Bush can spend billions killing over 30, 000 unarmed civilians in a country halfway around the world and that's OK, but spend anything at all to help somone eat and people get offended. So let's rebuild the Berlin Wall across our border -- it will only cost 1000 times more to construct it, gaurd it, and repair it than it would be to simply help the people who need help, but at least we would prove we could shake our powerful asses in their direction without a second thought as what the real "right" thing to do really is.

Heres a jokey answer for you then if your into this kinda humour.
Instead of all the fudging around with proper channels we put them in as many Hercules AC-130's we can get hold of, take em up to 28.000 feet, throw a solitary parachute out then a few seconds later empty the plane by opening the cargo ramp and doing a stall climb!
Those that learn to fly or manage to get into the parachute and open it in good time get to become UK citizens.
Hows that work?

Not every illegal in the US has a court case.In Arizona
if they are caught crossing the border, they are processed by the Border Patrol, pictures etc, then taken back to the border and sent back .

Because the law is written by lawyers. Since so many are paid by the hour, they love to drag everything out. Lawyers can't keep anything short and simple. Ever read John Grisham? There's a prime example. A 200 page story in an 800 page book.

As far as i know britain is classified as a very liberal country, where ppl can wear their knives for religious purposes and a burkha to cover the whole face of a woman apart from the eyes...
now to your question: the llegal immagrants just get the opportunity to enter britain cause of their relatives who are already living in the UK. Straight on the airport should be done an english test.. writing, reading and speaking and if they dont pass the minimum they should be send back instantly but with a visa and an invitation in writing their are unfortunately allowed to be in britain but not to work... which is wrong so they get income support. I totally agree with you even that im german. Me for instance i am not able to live and work in the UK cause i dont have relatives over there... and im a european ...

subscribe the newsletter from your gov and you will see the latest issues which has or will be disgussed in parliament

i did it and it is very informative.

The EU and the British government (left wingers) have built inertia into the system because they have no intention of turning immigrants away. They are only pretending to, because, in fact, the EU wont let them.

because the law has been created by those already here (not the person applying for immigration at that time). it has been done to create a system of rules so that each case can be dealt with fairly and not arbitrarily.

any person who favours a safe and fair society would approve of that.

Its sorting out the illegal immigrants from the legal immigrants that is the problem and takes so much time.
