i am pagan so is all my family and have been for many generations, and yet when i answer my front door to those who feel they need to go out and talk others round to their way of thinking (saying this politely), i find i come under attack when i say i am pagan, if these people are meant to be about peace and spirituality then surely it does not matter what you have faith in just so long as you are trying to be a good person who harms no-one intentually.

I think that people should accept people as they are, but respectful advise never hurts.
But some times if I see you (from my point of view) inside a problem, I think I should take a step and tell you about my point of view, with full respect for your choice.
For your case, I have to tell you to rethink about religions and read a book or two about that, and after you do your homework, take a choice.
What I'm trying to say is that for very important things as religion, we can not make a choice unless we know something about the options.

It's the nature of the beast kiddo. If youre different to me... I'll instinctivley see you as a threat. Luckily some of us can overide instinct (hence I dont try to groom my friends for fleas either).

Having met a few pagans... I find myself asking, why do they (and sadly they all do) feel the need to tell me they're a pagan ?
I have not once ever met someone and said, within fifteen minutes of meeting them, " My faith is closest to that of a unitarian Humanist " but my Pagan friends have a bad habit of never shuting up about paganism from day one. I'm not pointing a finger at you.... But youre gonna get tarred with the same brush.

That said, they're no worse tham Moomins (of the latter day) of Jay-Dub's.

I accept everyone on face value, always have, always will.... In the hope that they will do the same for me....With that view, I do understand you asking the question, it's rare that anyone accepts me for who I truly am, 4 people so far in 36 yrs !!

People are ignorant of other peoples beliefs being a pagan does not mean you are bad you live your life how you feel not what others think your life should be.
People tend to forget that all there nations were pagans at one time.

most of the ppl i know are pagans, and so is my sister. i do not classify myself as anything in particular, i just believe in nature and respect her. i do see how my sister and friends get the dirty looks at work, and why they just keep somethings for themselves. most ppl are just narrow minded, and there is nothing that can be done. other ppl are scared. all you can do is to be a decent human being and show them that just because you have different beliefs that doesn't make you a bad person. ppl that cannot accept this are being bad and and are the ones missing out.

all the best.

Because they are brainwashed, and not educated enough in tolerance. I don't give a stuff about religion, I judge people on how they treat others from all walks of life. Try opening the door in the nude, and invite them in, but they have to take their clothes for the ceremony. That will really make them flip!

I am an atheist and an all around live n let live kinna chic, I hate seeing ppl disillusioned but hey, its their life. Christians on the other hand are taught to go out and tell everyone about their god and try to "save" them , try to convert them and show them the so called error of their ways. Its why they come around to your door bugging the crap outta ya. It doesn't really matter if you are a good person to them...if you don't follow the belief in their god then in their eyes you are most definitely going to their hell. Pay no mind to their ridicule of your beliefs, or you can always just shut the door.

yet we do decide people on race, faith, seems, gender, sexuality, and it will continuously be like that, we do decide people, if i see a guy in a wheel chair i've got faith symphony, if i see a baby/thug wearing black thinking he enormous i've got faith hate those concept are what make us who we are, there should not be peace in this international in spite of the shown fact that many persons could like it, yet race and religions are too diverse it truly is going to by no potential substitute,

I am pagan also and when my family found out they disowned me and said they never wanted to see me again. I was dead to them. Of course these people were RADICAL Catholics. Funny by doing what they did to me they are sinners but tell them that and BAM your *ss gets thrown out the door.

there are some who have the attitude " my Religion is the only right one and therefore I know what is best for everyone since I know what is best for everyone it is my duty to save the world. " sad to say these type of people in the extreme are so fanatical they refuse to accept the fact there are many ways to get to ones destination since GOD is to big to be in only one place.

There are some people who feel the need to 'save' you by going to your house and preaching. there are others that do not.
I think I am open and ACCEPTING to other people's faith and beliefs.
