thoughout all of human history people have had faith in things that can never be proven, such as religion, ghosts, witches (and they did! remember the witch burnings!) religion is still believed in today and so are ghosts and witches were not that long ago. so with all the moden science we have why does the human race still want to believe in the unexplainable?

For many they have had experiences with the unexplained. Some have been touched deeply by religion or have experienced their own miracles. As for us believing in the unexplained, should we not believe in the pyramids? Modern science can not explain how they were built using the tools they had available at the time. There is a lot that science does not explain either. To believe in science and disregard anything spiritual is very narrow minded. The reverse is true is as well. A healthy belief in the unexplained tempered with science and logic seems to be the most enlightened way to go.

You'll find that they have had proof of some kind. Eg answered prayers, bible, other testimonies are all examples of proof that i have come across to change my mind about God being real. Feelings must be connected to our spiritual self as well so that when we follow a certain way and we get the feelings we are after - then that contributes. (hope that makes sense - its difficult to explain).

As far as ghosts and witches etc go - I try not to even think about that stuff. I do believe in it though but i know it is part of a darker side of life that i do not want to tamper with! I just know in my instinct that they are real. The bible actually warns us not to see clairvoyents or get involved in witchcraft! I couldnt believe it when i read it. I stay away from anything new age now and just believe in God (where i know this is 100% safe and good)!

Theres my thoughts anyway!!!!! :)

This is what's known as the God of The Gaps fallacy. When there is no mundane explanation for something people claim it was the work of Gods, ghosts, fairies, demons, and other supernatural beings rather than look for the real answer.

As science progresses the gaps close and the need for the supernatural explanation is no longer there. Such as modern humans no longer believe Helios is pulling the sun with his chariot or that lightning is caused by Thor's hammer.

It can be how someone is raised, how gullible they are, how open minded they are (or lack of skepticism), whether they have had any unexplained experiences of their own, drug use and education can all be contributing factors. Plus, it can be fun. I'm going to go out on a limb and wonder if there is a correlation between a person's imagination and views on spiritual matters and the unexplained. Maybe if someone has imaginary friends as a child they find themselves more comfortable with unproven ideas about the human spirit.

As the human brain is different from that of other creatures, can imagine anything during the day or at night, while sleeping.
Being asleep dreaming, is very difficult to understand, when you are awake is even more difficult. But we have know it all from experiences.
Now considering that every invention created by man was hidden somewhere, and it was unexplainable to comprehend at first. Then the little that we know does not comprehend everything!
We are intelligent creatures, that makes us dream that another supreme intelligence is in existence before us, as we have not created everything we don't even see.
So, as everything else exist, why not God, ghost, and evil spirits!
We like our dreams are coming from somewhere, and going somewhere else. Like crossing a bridge.

We do have proof witches exist. Witches are not supernatural beings, they are human.
If you have such a problem understanding that witches exist then there is very little hope in you understanding the important things in life such as religion.

That is a very wise question.
We tend to go through a stage where we don't believe anything,
to where we believe everything.
The first thing one learns in spiritual work, is to use
discrimination. That sound like a bad word, but it just means
to pick and choose.
There are real dangers in spiritual work. There are lost souls, that
create obsessions, hanging around people and bothering
them. And other forms of life, that don't all have our best
intentions in mind.
People who practise magic, imposing thier will on others.
Creates karma and keeps them bound to the lower dimensions
of reality.
I don't even pray. I just make my requests to our Creator,
and ask that His will be done.

That is why I hate religion. People start wars and kill people due to having a faith or belief in something that can never be proven. It is just trying to explain things that have no explanation. Religion sucks and it the root of all evil.

People look for explanations for things they don't understand. Some people are convinced that there must be some invisible beings at work. I guess it's easier for some to think "God did it" than to admit that it's beyond their understanding or to study science and do experiments in order to try to solve the mystery.

I agree. I do not believe in any of the above!

My partner and I had a discussion about the religion thing the other night. I think that it's amazing that some people base their whole lives around something that well, could be a load of b o l l o x
