4 at time is what you are granted but you need to treat them all equally and they need to accept this. Also you might not know this but the majority of muslims marry only one (at least in my country). There needs to be a reason why you need to re marry, like there is a disease that prevents your wife from having sex with you or she is barren, etc.
It's not like I am a muslim, Hurray!! I'll go marry 4 and enjoy!!

Putting that question up already puts me off.
I think there are only very few countries where you can marry more then one woman. And in Arabic countries it is not allowed to have a sexual relation with a man (for a woman) if she is not married. So that kind of limits it.

you can marry 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 is the maximum..but you have to treat them equally in everything...which no one can do...
and there are very difficut conditions for having more than one wife.
if you are not Muslim you can have one wife but as much as u want of Mistresses!

you can have 2, 3 or 4. with the intention of treating them with fair. means if you buy the 1st one a car, you have to buy the 2nd one a car as well. however if you fear you cannot be fair with women then remain only with one wife. Quran 4:3
and you will never be able to treat women equally even if you tried, so don't follow ur desire by leaving one of your wife hanging alone without taking care of her justly. Quran 4:129.

if u r a muslim u can marry 4 womens & but this doesnt mean u leave u r first wife for any reson besides he doesnt except islam & u can marry another woman when ur first wife give permission

If you are talking about wives, only as many as the first wife will allow, up to four, and only if you can treat them with absolute fairness - no favoritism. You may not "have" any women that you are not married to.

You can have 4 women at the same time but on 1 condition that you have to treat the 4 of them EQUALLY. (which is basically impossible)

huh, first of all -- ask urselves a question -- are muslims the only men with4 wives? and how many muslim men u met have 4 wives? and what about educated and civilised people who sleep with women but dont marry them?.
anyways since u asked let me clarify.
in Islam a man cannot marry just for fun. there is a procedure and one should have VALID REASONS. the first most important point is -- a man in Islam CANNOT REMARRY WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF HIS 1ST WIFE. only if the 1st wife permits , should that man marry or else the marraige is null and void. since most women do work today, money isnt a problem. couples should help each other out -- in all ways.
the reasons for men to remarry are:
1. in case where the 1st wife cannot have a child, in those days there was no IVF or Artificial Insemination. so instead of having a temporary marraige or Muta, the verse was revealed that said that a man can remarry. and in this case, only if the wife disagrees to have an adoption.
2. in case of wars, where a lot of men die and there are many women who are left behind. so instead of such widows who have to live their life alone, the prophet and Holy Quran agreed for the man to remarry. NOTE: in christianity the women were shaved bald so that they would not remarry. in Hinduism, they practised a religious Ritual of Sati, where the widow was burned alive with the dead husband. but it was Islam that said that widows should have equal rights to widowers.
3. during epidemics, where in cae if men die and there are a lot of women left back as widows.
4. when there is poor and orphan girl with no one to take care of, and when no man agrees to marry her -- then with the permission of his first wife the man can accept the poor woman. for even today in some conservative societies, they dont accept an orphan as a dauther-in-law.
5. in ISLAM on the day of marraige, the preist solemnizing the wedding will ask both the bride and groom (bride first then groom) THRICE and only if the bride accepts, the marraige is VALID. also a girl is asked first so that she will not be under the presure from the groom's answer. so the preist asks the girl first and then the groom and if the accepts, the marraige goes on. if the girl refuses, the marraige is null and void.
6. MUSLIM MEN CANNOT REMARRY IF THEY CANT SUPPORT THE WIVES AND THEIR CHILDREN FINANCIALLY AND DEAL WITH ALL OF THEM JUSTLY.
now lets analysewith respect to Quran
ISLAM SAYS RESPECT UR WIVES and DONT FORCE any one in marraige. and it says that if ur wife lacks in one virtue then dont turn ur face to her, but love her for her other virtues.

It is NOT LAWFUL for you FORCIBLY TO INHERIT THE WOMEN (of your deceased kinsmen), NOR (that) YE SHOULD PUT CONSTRAINT UPON THEM that ye may take away a part of that which ye have given them, unless they be guilty of flagrant lewdness. But CONSORT with them in kindness, for if ye hate them it may happen that ye hate a thing wherein Allah hath placed much good.
ISLAM CONDEMNS WOMEN AS OBJECT OF LUST
but islam condemns swinging affairs and extra marital affairs.

You cant HAVE any women. You may enter into a marraige with up to 4 women if they are all consenting and if you can treat them all equal and support them.
