Reading some of these answers that people write make me laugh. I was an ordained Lutheren priest. I have read three versions of the bible. I lead a good life. But here comes the rub and here is where I will hear it from what one answerer wrote as the GOD squad. I no longer preach. I no longer take communion. I no longer go to church or believe in the Church. I believe the bible is a guide to teach each and every one of us our own spirituality, not something to take literally. But I do still have my faith in something that is more powerfull than me whether it is a being called God or whatever it may be. So you tell me?

Beleive me in this. There is a difference between the Lord Jesus and God. People need to also understand the difference. Two different entities.

Also, I have found that by naming God, God, is putting unwanted shackles on him. God is what it is. To some it's Allah, to others its the spirit force. Is there any differnece in reality?

What ever it may be?!! Are you kidding me? Sounds like your either mad at the Lord , or you feel guilty about something. I'm not judging you, you asked for opinions. You no longer believe in the church & you believe the Bible is just a guide, not to take literally. Did you always have these belifes when you were a priest? If you did then it's best your not preaching any more. The Lord is more powerful and He is called GOD, not whatever.
I really feel so sorry for you that you have lost your way. Be careful and find your way back to Jesus.

You've read 3 versions of the bible, what did Romans 3:10 and Ephesians 2: 8-10 say in them?
It's very good that you left the church and don't believe in it anymore but you're still only half way there. Now that you have escaped the snare of religion, shake off the, " whether it is a being called God or whatever it may be." and turn to Jesus, who, if you have read 3 bibles, you know is the one, true, living God.

Im not a big supporter of the lutheran church they have become very liberal and have in many way strayed from biblical doctrine. I dont know why you left the church and your description of yourself is somewhat vague. The use of the term "god squad" may be perceived as others as perhaps bitter, but thats juust a simple observation. However to answer your question the bible never says you have to be an "ordained minister" to be saved or to play a part in the great commision so your decision to not officially preach from a pulpit is between you and god. Just from certain comments in your statement you sound unsure of your relationship with the lord, but I dont know you well enough to know if your just in a valley or if you truly have walked awy from god...thats between you and him.

Ok I changed my mind....after your last 2 comments its obvious why you left ministry...your not a christian and have no idea what a personal relationship with jesus christ means. PS the trinity is in the bible Jesus is God and vice versa...you cant just go through the bible and take the pieces that make you feel good and ignore the rest. Its either accepted as true in all or rejected completely it cannot be partially accepted

Since you've read the Bible you know perfectly well that God loves you. You also know that God views you as a sinner. It's not that God sees you as good or not good, it's that there is a barrier between you and Him that cannot be bridged. Every sinner has to pay a "wage" for his rebellion against God and you know perfectly well what that is. That's why Jesus came to earth and died, and rose again. He paid the "wages" for us. However, you have to believe that, and accept it, and ask God to apply that payment to your debt (sin).
Don't think that just because you spent some time as the member or cleric in some church that that in any way has earned you favor in God's eyes. You know perfectly well that the Bible say "there is none righteous, no not one" and "For it is by Grace that you are saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works so no one can boast." You also know that Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me." If you want God to find you acceptable in His eyes than you need Jesus--and you know that the Bible doesn't supply you any other way.

The Church are the believers, NOT the building, I believe we have to find God, In our own way, I found him using my words, with my mouth, not from someone else, I believe the building is a place to go and worship, and be with like minded people, to help us when were weak, and other reasons. I DO believe In the Bible, If not for the Bible we would not know right from wrong, the commandments are for that reason, and there is life in the word of God, It builds our faith, and love, it also tells us the things that are happening in our world TODAY, so I know it has to be truth, no one would have been able to predict with accuracy the things that are going on today in this world. and there is none good but one, that is GOD.

God taught through The Christ in Jesus to not judge, lest we judged by the same measure, so to ask others if they think you are good in Gods eyes is to ask them to pass judgment.
Is this not setting them up for a fall?
I am sure I was warned not to become a stumbling block to others.
I concur with your statement that Jesus is not God, but the Spirit of God resided in Jesus, and was able to over come the second death, when the body stayed in the ground.
God bless.

We are all "good in God's eyes". However he has certain expectations of us and wants us to live up to those expectations. We will be rewarding according to what we have done. Its not just what you have or haven't done wrong that matters, its also (and mainly) about what you have done right. How has your love for God and for your fellowman developed during your life? Don't expect a big reward for being mediocre.

I dont think that it is likely that a human could ever fathom what Allahs (or God or whatever you choose to call) perceptions or thoughts are.
Thats why only Allah is fit to judge. We dont have the mental capacity or knowledge needed to judge another person.

live and let live man.

If you have sinned, you are not good in God's eyes.

If you have repented of your sins, accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and follow His ways, then, through Christ's sacrifice, you are.

If you do not accept God as He has revealed Himself, and choose to believe God is not what He says He is, then you are committing idolatry... which is not good.

Look, I have not always led a decent life, and have had numerous failings. But I have been washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, and because of that, God looks to Jesus' perfection, instead of my utter failure. What God sees in me, is irrelevant... but rather, the fact that God sees His Son within me, is.

I have not shared in bread and wine in a long time. But I remember Jesus every day, in my own ways. I do not go to church as often as I should (and accidentally ignored a call from my pastor), but I fellowship with Christians in other ways.

I also do not believe the Bible should be read as "100% literal"... but rather, I believe the Bible should be read "with proper exegesis", that is, poem should be read as a poem, prophecy as prophecy, history as history, parable as parable, and so on.

The Bible is indeed a guide to ensure our salvation... but picking and choosing "what is right for me" isn't the way to go. I mean, God is no respecter of persons, but He is also merciful, and understands human situations. We need to follow in Christ's path... we need to 'run the race with the intent to win it'... but I'm sure God isn't going to nit-pick the minute details (such as grape juice vs. wine, fellowshipping in a church or in cyberspace, walking into the world vs driving through the world vs chatting to it on forums, etc).

The thing is, without Jesus Christ being Lord over your life, without you repenting of your sins, and without 'fighting the good fight', you are not good in God's eyes.

If the above are true for you, then what God sees in you is irrelevant, as He's not looking to you, but rather, to Christ.
