North Korea is living in the past, they are the only country in the world that spends billions of dollars, pounds on military hardware. Meantime the innocent civilian population has not enough food to eat. I would like to know who the bright guy was who sanctioned luxury goods to N.K. The people would think having enough to eat is a luxury. The other Asian country,s have been sending food to the N.K, for years. NK is not a strong country, just take a closer look at the president and tell me he,s a 100% with it.

I'm a S.Korean and most normal Skoreans think N.koreans beggars. I'm sorry to say this. but it is true.
Since Kim Daejoong's reigme which took power 10 years ago, Skorea governement has supported kinds of aids for free to N.korea.
The excuse was to help the poor in N.korea, but most of S.koreans now don't agree to that. They think most aids have been flowing into the military groups of Nkorea.
The past president Kim Daejoong won the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of having hold summit conference between North and South Korea and having settled the peaceful movement in this are but I'm wondering if Americans know the behind stories about this.
Kim transmiited secret money to the Nkorea for the conference, so the Korea National Assembly conducted hearing on the issue, and lots of Kim's aides were sentenced guilty and got prisoned.
Still, the leftist are taking powers in S.Korea, and even after the NKorea's nuke test, they are suspected their will as they try to understand the Nkorea's standpoint.
The ruling pary here insist the responsiblity of Nkorea's nuke test is on the U.S.
I can party agree with it but very doubt their will.

No, it's pathetic to even ask that question. If North Korea was a strong country, it's people would not be living in poverty and starving. They are only trying to make a nuke, because their army isn't that strong, and they really need some leverage so the rest of the world will do what they want. If they had a good army, their nuke wouldn't be questioned if it was a dud or not.

Not one bit, and that includes its military.
Go to National Geographic's website, look up the satellite shots of the world at night. There you can see the lights from South Korea and the People's Republic of China. Then take a look at the North Koreans, its like no one lives out there.
If the United States Army's standing strength is equal to that of the North Korean, they won't stand a chance. Not even a drop of it.

They are 20 million starving people ruled by a dictator. I would say they are strong they have to be. Before people start thinking i missed the point of the question i am only illustrating that N Koreans forces will be better fighters than any of the over weight equipment dependant Americans, remember Vietnam. Also they have communist China to help, maybe they only need an excuse to tell America that they dont rule the world and what they say about having nukes is totally hypocritical.

no, the reason why we are stuggling in the wars we have is because we do not use the power we have. We as our military/government do not use the power we have. It is not the soliders fighting it what they are limited to do so in turn die because we want everyone to be happy with us. To sum it all up we are being sold for other counties acceptance of us as a respecible nation not as one to watch out if you mess with us. so to answer your question no north korea is not a strong country at all. they have out dated old soviet and chineese equipment that can easily be destroyed. Just look how quick it was in take iraq.

North Korea`s government leader has been dead for 10 years now but they have never replaced him due to they believe he was that good....This shows how mad these people really are and the sooner Bush goes on another mad war rampage , this time to Korea , then the better it will be for us all....its a very bad move to let these mad folks have nukes!!!

No, it's weak and the population are starving in the main. Unfortunately they do provide a threat to South Korea. Compare them to a thug in a civilised community. Most of the neighbours are not sure what to do and the police will do nothing!

No, their population live in poverty and the only leverage they have at the moment is their nuclear testing.
I wouldn't be surprised if it all proved to be an elaborate hoax on the North Korean governments side (make a big explosion underground and say it was a nuclear test).
It's a convenient opportunity for the US, China & Japan don't you think?

1 of the last refuges of communism as China & Russia have abandoned the idea.
They R only as strong as their self -belief in the Socialist way.
U tell a populace they're strong 4 long enough, they'll believe U in the end.
It's all posturing & defecting waffle, France ( I know they're not a favourite in the World ) R insisting 2day that the Nuclear Tests were nothing but an elaborate ruse.
