If we feel sick because of an infection (germs) then it is poison produced by the germs that makes us sick. Our stomachs detect the poisons and try to get rid of them by sicking them up. Sometimes the same reaction can happen because of a food, if we are intolerant or allergic to it, or if it is too acid, or rotten. This happens for the same reason, the body detects that the food is bad and gets rid of it to stop any damage being done.

It is the body trying to prevent further damage to itself by expelling the potential threat to itself.
