Given the global political divisions, given the acceleration of the growth of the human population (all needing housing, feeding, employment, power, transport ect), given that the currently agreed very modest proposals to mitigate the effects of climate change are fully implemented is highly unlikely. I think we need to focus some attention on how to adapt to it. The lesson of the biological history of this planet is that environments change and species adapt or die out. So folks, how can we best adapt, both personally and as a community?

The climate has changed before. That's the nature of this old planet.

We need to do the best we can to not tamper with the balance needed to preserve life. Humans can adjust to different temperatures by improving shelter and making social adaptations.

Famine and disease could impact the population growth--as happened in medieval times.

We just need to be careful how much we tamper with things.

We could adapt BUT the cost will be high and the economic effects would be severe. I have an unsure whether we could support the current world population continuously through out the change. The loss of so many large world cities is going to be crippling.
We may be able to make the adaption easier and for this reason, my company is working on a new process of desalination. In a warmer world, we are going to need it.

It would be far better to avoid climate change. Our company is also working to make air capture of large amounts of carbon dioxide a reality so that we can reverse climate change.

Don't give in to defeatism!
We can reverse climate change, all we need to do is kill all the Americans, and the daily oil consumption would drop to about 10% of what it is now.
