In my opinion neither british or american soldiers should be killed, unfortunately these things do happen. President Bush should not have jumped the gun to go over to Iraq. I can understand Afghanistan to look for one man but that is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I just wish this thing would end and our boys and girls can come home.

by the laws that we have today invading a country to effect regime change IS ILLEGAL. That's what our troops and the americans are trying to do.

never the less good will come of it. iraq is already a better place than it was and it has much more potential. the women have more hope, the children will be able to improve their country without a dictatorship to waste their lives rebelling against it.

but the cost to innocent lives has been too too much.

if i was sadaam & my country was attacked because of the things i did, i wouldn't mind being arrested or assassinated 'cos it would be my fault & my mistakes i was paying for. but to kill people who i abused to destroy their livelihoods where they disagreed with me, hated me or had nothing to do with me. to me, that's completely unacceptable.

the answer to your question: however many lives peace is worth be they afghan, iraqi or otherwise.

History won't talk of casualites - it will talk of why and what was the outcome. If the end product of the war in Afghanistan is the removal of a regime that endangered world security, treated women as third class citizens and committed genocide then how can we argue against the war.

As many as it takes.
The islamic extremists have declared war on the world. They have to be stopped unless you want to be murdered or converted to islam.

Try and understand the gravity of this issue. Read the parts of the koran that they are taking literally. They have declared jihad on the world. Not just the U.S. but the entire western world. Do you like your lifestyle? THEY DON'T.

Look at how the U.K. is pandering to the muslims. They can say anything and protest and not be arrested. If you stand up for yourself you could be arrested for inciting a riot. The government of the U.K. is scared to death of muslims. They fear riots like what happened in france.

Afghanistan and Iraq are the center of this war. If we weren't killing as many as we are there just think how many would be conducting terrorists acts in other countries.

this isn't genuine. i'm particular of this. All infantrymen heavily woulded in Iraq are evac'd to Germany for further 'larger point' of care. If that soldier dies, they are counted as Killed in action.

One is one too many BUT unfortunately, these are professional soldiers, all of whom volunteered for the job, so if they are sent to a war zone, then they can't really complain, no matter how unfortunate the outcome.
Sorry.

None are, but people will die in conflicts.

If you mean how many deaths are tactically acceptable then I'm not sure, but we haven't pulled out for good reason. If we leave now, we leave the countries in turmoil, letting despots return to power. If that happens, we'll have to re-invade!

I suppose it depends on the individual. I mean, if you believe in the cause and they do then as many as it takes. If you don't believe in the cause or even war in generall, then 1 is even too many!

don't know why neogriff got 2 negative ratings

whereas i don't necessarily "like" the idea that the iraqis and afghnas should start killing each other, i don't see UN troops moving into northern ireland, and i can't see the british govt, or the people of NI appreciating a "peace keeping force" of Iraqis and Afghans....

live and let live
