Hi Sarah
I'm getting married in March next year and we are planning the whole thing ourselves - although we both have hectic work lives.
I've found that enlisting the help of friends to bounce ideas off and going through wedding magazines is really useful. Also, a lot of venues now are run by people who will help you out with all the elements of the wedding from cars to photographers to florists.
But you have to do what feels right for you and if you love the idea of someone organising everything and ensuring that the day runs perfectly while you concentrate on looking beautiful, enjoying yourself and basking in love - then go for it!

If you can afford the added expense then why not? I think you miss out on a lot of the fun then, lots of wedding planners have "standard" choices, so your event would be the same as almost all the other people that hired that planner, the best bit about planning a wedding is deciding all the details, checking out all the options etc. But then if you are too busy then I guess they are a good option. I would consider using the money for a better purpose though, like add it to your honeymoon fund and have an awesome holiday.

I had a wedding planner. She was a dream. They don't pick things for you. You tell them what you're looking for and they find it. They take care of all the little odds and ends you're too busy to worry about in your everyday life. I honestly have no idea what they cost. Mine was my husbands aunt so she did it for free as our present. She was very good at finding things that were just beautiful at a cheaper rate than if we had to buy it ourselves. Most have many connections that will help you save money and will also save you all that shopping around time! Just call a few and give them a basic idea of what they are working with time wise and what you want and they can give you an estimate. Good luck planning everything!

I'm sorry you have to suffer the abuse. i think it is perfectly acceptable question. i am also sorry i do not know how much a wedding planner would cost you but i would expect they don't come cheep. I planned all of my wedding and thoroughly enjoyed it even though it was difficult at times. You have plenty of time , go to some wedding Fayre's, go try on loads of dresses until you find the right one, go to florists ,ask them what they do, go to venues, try the food. this is what i did, it my day worked out great. good luck with everything i hope you have a wonderful time. enjoy it.

Planners are expensive. Who is paying for the wedding. Don't you have a dream of what your wedding should be like ? Lots of ideas in women's magazines.Get together with your friends and family to discuss the possibilities. A wedding should be what u want it to be not someone elses ideas. Get advice and help from others you know that have been married recently. Of course there is always your mum.

i think of a marriage planner ought to in all probability help, yet given which you would be able to arise with the funds for it. I definitely have a $5000 funds for my wedding ceremony with approximately 220 travelers that we are inviting. there's no way i ought to arise with the funds for $500 or extra for a planner. i think of that your suited guess is to make your concepts up your funds and your concentrated visitor checklist first. in the experience that your funds is $10,000 for a hundred travelers, choose for it. in case you're like me, i could bypass it.

If you can afford it. Go for it. I would ring around your local area or surf the web to find one in your area.
Ask how much and if you can afford it go for it..
Getting married and buying a house is the 2 most stressful things in life.
The tension will be loaded from your mind,, serioulsy if you have alot going on in your life I would for sure do it.. All the hassle of it all.. You want to enjoy your day.. let someone else take all the worry..
good luck.. hope you find a good one..

No I wouldn`t get a planner, Just have a go yourself and let it be an experience whether you do a good job or not, at least you`ve tried and you might be proud of your achievement, also just imagine you paid out loads for a planner and it didn`t go to plan, what would you be saying about it? I hope things go ok for you whatever you decide good luck

If you can afford it, why not! Although I am a detail oriented person and like to do things on my own and have my special touch, but I really feel for you! You are busy and kind of all on your own on this.
The cost varies on the planner her/himself and their offerings.
