Excellent question, maybe they have no ears cause they don't want to hear the egg break when it fall. I think it is to do with aerodynamics, snakes normally squeeze in tight places and can you imagene the problems he will have with a pair of flapping ears hooking on to everything, or a bird with ears, the wind resistance will be to much, but serious, i am just guessing, and don't have a clue.
