Bootcamp separates the men from the boys. It is real hard and you had no privacy because your things are always subject to inspection.

Depends on which branch of military you are going into. I have two sisters in service: Marines and Navy. The Marine bootcamp is known to be the most hard and severe, then the Army, then the Navy, then the Air Force,. My sister in the Marines came back with lots of odd stories from bootcamp. My other sister went into the Navy...it was easy as ****!! I prefer the Air Force, though. It has better living conditions and friendlier drill instructors!!

Depends upon what you have been doing with your life prior to entering boot camp. If you have not kept yourself in shape physically; have always skirted the edges and tried to just get by, rather than forcing yourself to do the best you can do; if you have not been self disciplined and self motivated; then boot camp will be tough.
I found boot camp fun, easy and a real growth experience. But I was playing college football before entering too. There were a few mental challenges in terms of learning the military way of life but not difficult by any means.
Privacy is rare in Boot camp. It is intended to be that way. It is part of building small group and larger group dynamics.

This question is one which only you can answer after you have completed it, as with respect to individuality the boot camp experience is different for everyone, however I will say this, if you are a boy, then they will make a man of you, teach you how to stay alive, the importance of team work and self sacrifice.
Even if you hate it and despise it while you are experiencing it, one day you will most likely look back on those days with fond memory's.
No privacy.

No, Boot camp is all a mental game. You just have to realize if they ever yell at you or are on your case, that they are preparing you for stressful situations that your future job may have on you. Just remember that just like every job in the world, there are people who abuse there power, but they are never allowed to lay a hand on you. Privacy is basically Nada. It also depends on what basic training you went through. I went through the Air Force and it was easy. I was actually hoping for more of a challenge, but oh well. Just remember that you can have fun, and just don't take things personal.

First: How on Earth are you going to send a person somewhere without their agreement if they are older than 5yo? Second: Do you really think he will ever talk to you again, let alone respect you, if you send him to a boot camp? Third: Do you really think after you missed to teach him the first years, he will get the idea now? The brain stops its development at age 20-21. Until then it develops really slow, while the first years are the fast development when you have to teach the child everything. You are late. And your teenager may be actually very responsible, just not with you.

Bootcamp, whether judicial, or military is rough, physically and mentally. There is no such thing as privacy at boot camp.

Depends what you consider 'bad treatment'....the DI's don't pick out certain ones and are horrible to them. The ones who appear to be picked on are usually the ones that the DI's see potential in and are trying to make them the best they can be. It sounds horrible I know, but that is the mentality of the DI's....
