I am not sure how to find out ... but if this is someone you are in a relationship with, or considering it, and have doubts ... do whatever you have to to check things out first! Pay for a background search if need be.

I have an ex, who has big problems, who masquerades as ex-military ... and he isn't. There are people like that out there. If you are doubting ... check it out, please!!

Of course, I am lead to believe by your question that you are not in regular contact with the person that you are inquiring about. In that case, you may have to apply for that information under the Freedom of Information Act. I know that everyone who needs to know that I'm retired has already been told.
