likely a pinched nerve at the elbow area.

Hi - I sporatically get a numb sensation in my left hand, it feels kinda like pins and needles. I get it around the same time as I get my period, a few times over a few days then not again until my period is due again. I have had a neyrologist test me, had a ct scan, has an eeg (brain wave test) to see what the problem is and they all came back negative. They said it might be epilepsy but I didn't go on epilepsy meds as they are very intense. Does this sound like you? I just live with it and monitor it, it's not getting worse or better and isn't an issue unless I am carrying something at the time!!
Hope this has helped!

I had this problem some time ago, and yes it is connected to nerves in the hand, although the cause may be dietry. I stepped up my b vitamins intake, as I was told it could be a lack of one or two of them in my diet. I don't have the problem now unless I sleep on my arm or something, in which case it would be caused by lack of circulation. Maybey it will work for you if lack of b vitamins (which are connected to nerve function) is the cause.

Could be several things - yes maybe RSI, but could be either 'Carpel Tunnel Syndrome', or compression of a nerve in your neck by what people refer to as a 'slipped disc'. Both these conditions can give you pins ans needles, you should def go to the GP, they can get worse if left untreated. check out the sites below, particularly " sensory symptoms" in sect2 of the 2nd link

More than likely you probably have a pinched nerve in either your shoulder or your elbow. This is something that will go away on it's own in probably about 2-3 days.

Possibly a pinched nerve in your upper back or shoulder. You may also have some circulation problems. I'd go to a chiropractor or talk to your regular doctor.

poor circulation, it could be that your leaning on it wrong and cutting off the blood supply for too long or that you have it lower than your heart and have not moved it enought to get the blood circulating through it properly, or it could be due to poor circulation in general, an unhealthy diet, illness/disease... its normally one of the first two, but if it keeps bothering you have a doctor check it out

do you carry a bag over your shoulder, is your clothing restricted at the elbow/inner arm, bracelet/watch too tight, you get the picture,
circulation, or nerve damage in your upper torso can cause these symtomns, so can heart problems, if persistent go see the quack.

It's probably a trapped nerve, as I had, but I would go and see my doctor. With your other symptoms, it could be a heart problem. Don't want to alarm you and it probably is nothing, but when I went they checked my heart.
Why don't you phone NHS Direct and ask them.
