I think, by no means! These are two separate things and it is crystal-clear in the scriptures. The apostles always considered them to be separate. For example... " While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
Then answered Peter,
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord." (Acts 10:44-48)

Hmmmm... never heard of being bapitzed by the holy spirit...
Wanna hear a story??? So... some religions "sprinkle" for baptisms instead of full immersion as Jesus did, right? Well, during the dark ages, water was considered to be posessed/ruled by the devil, meaning, if you were submersed in water, the devil will drown you... maybe... hence all the bad hygiene... so some rich guys back in the day were afraid to be baptized but didn't want to go to hell, so they paid the church to make "sprinklings" instead of submersion part of baptism.
Interesting, eh??? This is only a story I heard... no factual evidence... but it would be funny!!! As I said in my previous answer to your other question, I think that baptism is mostly symbolic... yes, it would be great if we all could go the River Jordan and be baptized just the way Jesus was, but that's not possible. If you are willing to make a life change and want to wash away your old sins and start anew, being held accountable by God for all actions henceforth... I don't think you need to go take a dive in a pool somewhere... that's between you and God, and he pretty much knows what your heart says and whether or not your intent is good.
Good luck in your decision!

Baptism with the Holy Spirit is a separate event, though it may happen simultaneously with water baptism, regardless of what Jimmy Sweagert has to say on the matter.

All water Baptism using the widely accepted Trinitarian "formula" or "language" is baptism by the Holy Spirit.
Those who try to claim something else are simply teaching falsely. Don;t worry about them.

Jesus could baptize with spirit or fire, but all christians are supposed to be baptized in water as a symbol of dedication to him. It's figurative of washing away the old personality and becoming clean. So don't forget the water.

Baptism by the Holy Spirit is between you and God, and only you and God know it, for sure. Immersion in water is your public symbol of your informed consent to serve God and Christ. If one thinks they don't need to be baptized, than they are putting themselves about Christ, who knew that the public display was important.

i think of we are on the comparable web site with baptism. Repentance is a Greek be conscious 'metanoia', which in essence potential a concepts replace, a concepts shift, a clean attitude. whilst the Greek texts have been first translated into Latin, they mistranslated metanoia as 'do penance', which led to the two the Catholic view of penance (do some thing for forgiveness) and contribues to our theory of repentance concerning doing a gaggle of stuff... not that changing our strikes are not significant; that must be the organic consequence of genuine repentance (metanoia). So whilst Peter says 'Repent and be baptized', he's asserting 'metanoia and baptizo', remodel your concepts to ascertain the hot greater image (Jesus is the Son of God and died so which you will have a dating with God, and spot the type you presently in good condition into that plan), and be immersed for the forgiveness of your sins and to receive the Holy Spirit. So can somebody be saved devoid of remodeling their minds (metanoia)? i don't see how they are able to... in the event that they have not experienced 'metanoia', they don't 'get it', and baptism will in basic terms be getting moist.
