Why Muhammad dint reject marrying a 9 year old girl when that girl is being offer to him?

What kind of father that give his 9 year old daughter to married a 50 ++ year old man. Why Muhammad dint reject it on the spot. Why don't he take aisha as a adopted child. Why dont he condemm it

Aisha should go to school and learn math and science

As a prophet he should show a good example and oppose the custom at that time. What will happen to this world the kids future if all old men married 9 year old girl

some answerer claims aisha was muhammads first wife? where in tarnations did you hear or dream about that? muhamamad's first wife was a rich 40 year old widow. go look up your quran and find out yourself....

This shows that the Western are half-blind when it comes to marriage; you ignore the most important principle of marriage: MUTUAL CONSULTATION & AGREEMENT. You criticize the muslims that look! a 50 year old guy is marrying a 6 year young girl, but, fail to see that the 6 year girl himself is marrying the 50 year guy; it is not a one-way, it is a two-way road! At marriage, BOTH MEN & WOMEN ARE ASKED if they agree to marry each other.

He showed that a 9 year old girl in Arab is actually a grown up.
The hot environmental conditions make the girls & boys grow up there soon & they are able to become parents at that age..
So He showed that A 9 Year old girl is elligible for marriage.

Why dont u people see that He also showed that it is ok to support a widow way elder than u by marrying a 40 year old widow when He was just 25.

The marriages of Muhammad (PBUH) are actually a teaching that whom can u marry, which laws apply on which condition...


Also in Christianity who would not want his daughter to get married to Jesus..
Coz when that daughter becomes wife of Jesus, she gains more & more respect & higher levels in heaven...
& this may be an act which will let him brush off his sins...
So similarly the father of that 9year old girl offered his daughter to the greatest MAN of ARAB for marriage...

Hey!!!! I hate when people talk without knowing whats really going on? In the arabic pensisula long time ago (the days when the prophet mohammed peace be upon him were alive) it was normal for 7,8 or 9 years old girls to get married... Girls at that age weren't babies i mean they used,and till now, to get their first period at that age and they were women enough to get married... Beside why do all the people in the world talking about this issue?? This is our noble prophet and we love him more than anything we just don't care what others would say about him!!! Just go to your culture where 1 of 4 little girls get raiped by their own fathers!! Why no one talks about that ha??

Not only was it a custom in the Arab society to Engage/Marry a young girl it was also common in the Jewish society. The case of Mary the mother of Jesus comes to mind, in non biblical sources she was between 11-14 years old when she conceived Jesus. Mary had already been "BETROTHED" to Joseph before conceiving Jesus. Joseph was a much older man. therefore Mary was younger than 11-14 years of age when she was "BETHROED" to Joseph. We Muslims would never call Joseph a Child Molester, nor would we refer to the "Holy Ghost" of the Bible, that "Impregnated" Mary as a "Rapist" or "Adulterer".

According to the Priest of Saint Mary's Catholic Church: "Mary was approximately 14 years old when she got pregnant with Jesus. Joseph, Mary's Husband is believed to be around 36. Mary was only 13 when she married Joseph. When she first was arranged with Joseph she was between 7 to 9 years old."

According to the "Oxford Dictionary Bible" commentary, Mary (peace be upon her) was12 years old when she became impregnated.

So if I want to be as silly and ridiculous as many of the Christians, I would respond to them by saying that Mary was psychologically and emotionally devastated for getting pregnant at a very young age. And speaking of "child molesting", since most Christians believe that Jesus is the Creator of this universe, then why did GOD allow himself to enter life through a 12-year old young girl's vagina? Please note that we Muslims love and respect Allah Almighty, Mary, Jesus and Allah's Message to the People of the Book (The Jews and Christians). In other words, we Muslims would never make fun of Christianity through such childish topic like this one as many ridiculous Christians do make fun of Islam through our Prophet's (peace be upon him) marriage.
