In the story "the bible", or Adam and Eve, what was the apple representing?
Was it sex, or something sexual?
If it was to represent sex, then why an apple? ( I think i get the snake bit!)

The apple represents knowing the difference between right and wrong. The story seems to indicate that humans have a conscience by our own choice. It isn't really a sexual metaphor at all. It leads in to another idea about social nudity. Until they knew good and evil, Adam and Eve didn't see anything wrong with being naked, but after they ate the apple, they were ashamed to be naked.
It will really do you a lot more good to read this material and think about it for yourself to understand what it might mean. Here's a hint: the symbolism isn't Freudian.

Adam and Eve represent humanity.

the fruit of the tree of Knowlege (its not actually said to be an apple...) is... well, the act of eating from the tree is the realizing that they are capable of defiance. that they do have free will, and are able to go against what they are told by God.

its not actually specified as an apple.

and its not specified as a SNAKE either. its a Serpent, (which is not originally specified as the devil, or a demon or any such nonsense. and "satan" in the OT isn't the devil or anything evil anyway)

another point would be that the Serpent did not lie. compared to as they were, their ability to chose their actions, compared to the animals, were "as gods" and they did not die(immediately... as you'd expect if you were told you'd die when eating this fruit)

First it wasn't an apple specifically. It was just a fruit. And what it represented was obedience to God. It was merely the tool in which to teach Adam proper obedience.

its not specified actually as an apple but its a fruit and it represent the sin the ability of deifiance for human kind that ability is not known to angels so Adam and eve both defied thier lord and it wasnt the fruit from the knoladge tree that lored them i believe the sin itself did it also represent the ability of devil to play with human mind and make him fall in sins and defy the lord's will so Adam and his wife were sent down to earth with the devil thier enemy GOD after that forgived adam and learned him the word which by HE will forgive him for saying-as GOD knows the sinfull nature of humans- though its not a punishment that adam was sent to earth he was ment to be thier to built it and do the GOD will on it fighting the devil who tries to lore him from his way.
