When i open new word document It shows "Word cannot open the existing(normal)". i am annoying a lot when i open new word document. pls help me how to solve this problem

Your Normal.doc file is corrupt. What version of Office are you using? your office has a feture which can repair itself.
Look for it in the HELP menu. you will have a repair Word Option in it. It will restore all deleted files and get your word working fine.
p.s-you will need your office CD with you. The restoration process will need that while running

If your trying to open a document in "Microsoft Word", that's normally a problem when there's an unsupported format or font in document.
If your trying to open a Word document in say "Adobe Reader" there have been problems getting there software to work together for quite some time.
I think the Normal.doc issue was resolved back when I was doing teck suport As long as your updating

May be your windows is corrupted, Do format your PC and reinstall MS-Office, Take backup of word files and try them opening again...

get a copy of normal.dot and put it in the right place (C:/program files/microsoft/microsoft office/microsoft word/)
