I have a low-backed, sheath gown, and I'm trying to figure out what sort of bra to wear with it. I need something low-backed, strapless, and 32D. The adhesive bras I've found advise not to wear them for more than six hours at a time, and I need something I can wear 12+ hours. I also tend to have pretty sensitive skin, so I'd be nervous about chancing it.

My dress is form-fitting, and my seamstress claims that cups would show through.

I've started looking for a seamless longline bra, but the only one I've found so far is expensive, and it looks like it may not go low enough in the back.

What can I do?

Take it from someone who has been large chested since she was 19, you're a D cup you can't go without a bra, that would look horrible. Also, I hate to say it, but with that size you're going to have to spend some money. Try the website below or find a really good lingerie shop near you and I don't mean Victoria's Secret. VS bras are expensive crap that don't hold up the goods. Goddess makes really good bras and I believe they have a long backless strapless. You might be able to find a good bra in a really good department store. Expect to pay around $50. Good luck. By the way, the gown is beautiful - simple and elegant.

You really don't have very many options.

There are two types of adhesive bras. One is like a tape that kind of wraps under and around your breast. Another is like a bra cup with adhesive along the edges.

Then there is the Nu-Bra, or something like that. To be honest, I don't quite understand how it works, but it does. It's like a silicone-type material (a little squishy) that sticks to your breasts, and it can be hooked together in the middle. I wore one for 15 hours without a problem, but they are expensive.

From looking at the dress, I'd be hesitant to wear a long-line bra. I think you'd be able to see the seams of the bra through the dress. Have you tried the dress on braless?

If you really need to wear a bra, I think one of the adhesives or the Nubra would be your best bet. The higher the quality, the better the adhesive. You can always wear them a bit ahead of time to test how the adhesive will affect your skin. I've found that the adhesive can last longer if you aren't sweating very much. You can also reapply the adhesive in the bathroom.

If it is form fitting, why wear a bra? You sound like you are well shaped and it should fit well enough to hold you in.

Since it's form-fitting, I'd skip the bra altogether, as long as you can't actually see through the fabric.

I heard a couple of years ago that when J-LO wore that green dress that was in all the papers. She used masking tape to hold up her breast.I figure it's worth a shot.
