I have noticed that being gay is synonymous with going to hell. What happened to "he who is without sin throw the first stone"?

I've seen all the Bible verses. But I never read one that said "He who is gay will burn in the lake of fire for all eternity."

Homosexuality is not an automatic pass to hell any more than heterosexuality is an automatic pass to heaven. That ain't the way it works, no matter what people tell you. Salvation is by grace alone through faith in Christ. Below is what I posted at this thread:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AppYgfiLu7xfcESEk8Zhvazsy6IX?qid=20061008225619AA2g1Y3

BEING gay is not wrong, but homosexual ACTS are the real issue. But let's not let heterosexuals off the hook here--the Bible has a lot to say about sexual morality that applies very much to heterosexuals as well--I think there's a lot that's not being said about chastity outside of marriage, but there are a lot of heterosexual Christians who justify their "extracurricular" behavior on the grounds that God will forgive them. But it totally misses the point. The questions I pose to both heterosexuals and homosexuals are, "Whose will are you seeking? And who are you trying to please, yourself or God?" I've come to the conclusion that God calls homosexuals to live a life of chastity, focused on Him--but God also never intended for every heterosexual to get married or have sex, either. God calls some heterosexuals to be celibate and to focus on deepening their relationship with Him instead of with a marriage partner. What matters isn't what we want, but what God wants for us.

Here is the verse...

Rev 21:8 "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and the abominable and the murderers and the immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

Since God considers homosexuality as an abomination (Lev 18:22), then all those who choose homosexuality will face this future as told in Rev 21:8.

As for the "he who is without sin throw the first stone" is for those who act pious and holy but are nothing more than hypocrites. Its human nature - those who truly are holy don't throw stones, those who are full of sin themselves tend to throw the first stone.

everybody judges, the 2d a individual looks at somebody they are judging that individual. it is how all residing issues work together and cope in society. some human beings bypass previous the norm and are not shamed. yet i'm not likely to be modest and say that i don't decide; this is a lie. there is not one believer that has not broken a commandment, mom Theresa probably broke some. you spot with the bible it governs from the interior as properly by way of fact the outdoors. So even although the bible disagrees with homosexuality, it nevertheless governs how we ought to continuously manage all fellow guy. A corrupt individual can unquestionably turn this into the detrimental and use the bible for incorrect; or a individual can turn this right into a terrific and use the bible for good. some human beings bypass 50/50.

One of these days I must remember to count up how many times the Bible tells us not to be gossips or to be jealous or to argue with each other. I know it’s far more than theverses always mentioned on homosexuality. Incidentally, I think Paul’s verses concerned the pagan practices that were still common in Greece and had more to do with orgies.
Sorry, I don’t have those verses memorized as some do. I’m starting to wonder if this is the only thing some churches preach.

Your absolutely right, it never says they will go to hell. What it does say at 1 Corinthians 6; 9- 11 is that they will not inherit God's kingdom. This also includes fornicators, adulterers, idolators, thieves , greedy persons, drunkards, and extortioners. Verse 11 gives hope in that it says some of the early Christians did these things, but they had been washed clean. So, in layman's terms, stop doing it. That's not for me or any other person to judge, but each person will carry their own load.

Homosexuality is not acceptable if one beleives in the literal wording of the bible.

I do not think theives will automatically go to hell. I do not think cussing is an automatic pass to hell. And I do not think being homosexual is absolutely damning.

Some so-called Christians seem to think that they are qualified to judge others-then nag them and prejudice them. I am sorry that are like that.

Personally, I think homosexuality is probably usually wrong. How wrong, I can't really say. Why churches pick certain "sins" as being absolutely terrible and damning and others (eg. cussing) to be overlookable, i don't know. I am open to latitude on the subject but I also do not buy the argument that all were born that way or that it is always "natural". I guess I hold my own opinions but you would not necessarily know it by talking to me in person if you were gay. I reserve the right to feel as I wish-to personally judge what people do as I see fit but not to actually treat them any differently on account of my opinions unless they could potentially be a threat to me. That's God's job.

Being gay is NOT a pass to hell.
Being a sinner without Christ IS.

Casting the first stone has to do with evaluating you own life, not others. No one living is qualified to judge. But God will judge all. Christ is yearning to stand on behalf of all who turn to him.
A summary of the biblical referenced activities that keep people out of heaven is listed below.

sexual immorality idolatry adultery prostitution
homosexual offenses theft greed drunkenness
slander swindling impurity witchcraft
hatred discord jealousy fits of rage
selfish ambition dissensions factions and envy orgies
abomination lying cowardice unbelief
murderer sorcery

You skipped over a few parts, i.e who will not be in heaven:

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

"But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (Revelation 21:8)

Homosexuality and all other sin that you can think of is not the automatic pass to to Hell.

Hell is reserved for those who willingly and knowingly reject God and his will and his way. We do not determine who goes to Hell nor do we determine who goes to Heaven. Only God makes that particular judgement.

Open unrepented sin is willingly and knowingly rejecting Gods word and his will and his way. This is what you are asking about and again only God knows what is truely inside a persons heart.

All believers knowingly sin. The difference comes only in acknowledging that sin, turning away from that sin and striving not to commit that sin again.

What we read has been written by a human hand.
No human is allowed to judge other humans because they can judge him as well. Why would the Bible people judge other non-bible people??
Bigots, and socially frozen minds willl say that Homos will go to hell (if this hell ever exists) , but those forget that they are also bound to go to hell (the same as the previous one) when they act in opposite to their beliefs. They are slaves to their beliefs, and their chains are not other people's chains.

You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.

If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.

For they exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

These are passages from Leviticus and Romans, what part do people not understand.
