Enlist a friend or two and start walking. Great music helps too - find something upbeat and keep pace with the music.
Is there something you always wanted to try, like line dancing, hip hop, rock climbing, etc? This may be the time to try something challenging -- you might love it.
I joined a Karate class a year and half ago after watching my son for the last 6 years. I can't believe how much I enjoy it. Not only is the exercise great, but all the students get along well - I've made some great friends there. We motivate and encourage one another. I hate it if I have to miss a class.
What made you happy as a kid? If you loved rollerblading or biking (etc) when you were younger - try it again. I rollerblade with my daughter - it's fun to act silly.

It's challenging to start-- you have to accept that it's a total change in lifestyle-- but once you get started, give it a few weeks and you will have more energy and motivation and you will become "addicted" to the healthy feeling you're creating for yourself. Respect yourself enough to want to feel and be your best. Don't take good health for granted. It changes as we get older, often as a result of careless lifestyles.
Despite what others say, you are accomplishing something great everytime you workout. You should set aside the time and enjoy yourself when you're doing it. Don't overdo it or you will get burned out (and very sore, especially in the beginning).

Write down 4 goals you want to achieve and work towards them.
Motivation is having the encouragement to do something. A motivated person can be reaching for a long-term goal such as becoming a professional writer or a more short-term goal like learning how to spell a particular word. Personality invariably refers to more or less permanent characteristics of an individual's state of being (e.g., shy, extrovert, conscientious). As opposed to motivation, emotion refers to temporal states that do not immediately link to behavior (e.g., anger, grief, happiness).
Without a goal how can you know which direction you wan't to go in ?
how about as your first goal you run a google search on different diets and techniques.. read some inspirational stories .. choose your fav one and stick it on your wall..
You CAN do it!!

I don't know about you, but I hate doing all that work & accomplishing nothing!!! It's fall. How about raking a bunch of leaves, laying a patio, moving furniture to clean under it, building a spare room on the back of your house, etc. Then you'll be slim & strong but have either raked leaves, a nice patio, a clean house or a new room to show for your labors as well.

Maybe you need to join a Gym and be around others that are doing the same, they help motivate you. Also see if one of your friends want to exercise or walk with you, it can fun if you have someone else to talk to when you are doing it.

Most exercises are not fun. Going to the gym can get pretty boring. My children and I go to Tae Kwon Do twice a week. We have a blast and stay in shape. Check out this link for more info http://www.ataonline.com/

usually it would be your diet. If you eat all the right food you will find that you feel a lot better and in turn will feel more like exercising.
