see how ridiculous it sounds when someone speaks crap?

see how ridiculous it sounds when Christians keep accusing Muslims of treating their women bad.

We know we don't. Just as you know you don't. Let's have a discussion instead of trading pointless and false accusations. Can you Christians do that?

well it really surprises me how women dont see what they are forced to do -- from wearing skimpy stuff, to body /breast reconstructions or tummy tucks, stuff like Botox or implants which may again lead to infection. wonder why only women are doing all this sacrifise -- willingly or unwillingly -- for men?. and they really dont realise it.

i mean they think that they are given Equal Freedom but even today it is Eve who is being blamed for Fall of Mankind not Adam. also how these people do not realise that they are being manipulated is as much surprising. they do all this for men and there are many cases of betrayal -- either before marraige or after marraige. and they say so much about Freedom and opression, but ever wondered that girls who do not have pre-marital women are considered "uncool and a worthless bauble" by other girls of same age group.

if they are not being manipulated, then they need to question themselves -- why do women like TLC and PINK release albums like -- Unpretty and Stupid girls.

Why do people have such a screwy view of Islam? Yes, there were people jumping in the streets when the planes struck the world towers, but that doesn't mean ALL muslims are like that. I live in the Middle East. Women are NOT forced to wear Abayas and dress the way that it is portrayed. It has become less of a religious thing, and more of a cultural thing. Where i live only 2% of the nation is actually a citizen by birth, and the ones that are are almost all Islamic. They wear the cultural dress as a sign of "This is my native home." It is not a thing that has been forced upon them, and they are not treated as poorly as everyone thinks. People have messed up views.

yea i heard of that, its' ridiculous, What it is about is men trying to act like they are better then woman and saying it's God's law. They take parts of bible that would say that and ignore other's, they dont bother looking at what the text is really trying to say or at the historical/cultural facts of the time were. I heard this church say that woman can't pray as well as men and that they can't teach men, only other woman and children. My church is totally awesome and the head pastor is a woman, let who God calls do their thing.
Women In The Ministry: There is no scriptural prohibition concerning women ministering in any position or holding any office in the church. Acts 2:17,18: Galatians 3:26-28; Romans 16:1-15; Colossians 4:15; Phillipians 4:2,3; Corinthians 11:5

There are so many sects of Christianity that vary in their attitudes about dress, practised by people that then have cultural influences and their own personal foibles... this question is way too broad to be taken seriously as is. Christians where? When? What sect of Christianity?
I'm a Latter-day Saint in the USA, and I don't force my wife or kids to do anything. That kind of controlling influence is immoral and doesn't follow Christ's example. [As the Son of God Christ could force people to do whatever, but didn't, and there's an important lesson there.]
So what's your point of comparison- "...how poorly they are treated..." compared to who, as a whole?

Do you mean cults? I met a girl in college who was born and raised in a cult. The cult she was in lets them make their own decisions of staying or not when they grow up. She chose to leave to further her education. But yes, she said the conditions were horrible and men were mean to their wives and children, so she made a conscious choice as a child to leave the cult when she was old enough.

She explained that it was because they were taught all their lives that men have power over the women. So, women who married in to that religion knew that she was to be his "property" because he is obedient to God's rules over him. However, God, her husband, father, uncles, grampa ruled over her. Sad huh? I wouldn't want to be in that kind of, or any kind of cult. It sounds too suffocating, because women are not allowed to even have an opinion on anything, let alone make choices. The husband makes all the decisions in the family...

I'm a Christian woman. My man doesn't force me to wear anything I don't want to wear (although he may mention it if he doesn't think something is appropriate Christian attire - ie, too short, too tight, too low cut). I don't feel I'm treated unfairly and I know I'm not unequal to men. The headship arrangement, when exercised properly, is actually a wonderful provision. It actually takes most of the burdens of marriage off of us. It places the responsibility before God of the spirituality of the family on the man (which, by the looks of the behavior of most children today, I'm MORE than happy not to be responsible before God for!!!). It also places the main responsibility of providing for the family on the man. In any situation where more than one person is involved, there has to be someone to make final decisions when necessary. Granted, it isn't always easy to submit to the arrangement when you're disagreeing with your husband on something. But if your husband is following the role Christ set out for him, he'll be seriously taking your thoughts and feelings into consideration when making final decisions. He will also recognize that he will have to answer to God if he chooses to do things his way simply because he is being selfish. Even if he doesn't consider your thoughts and feelings, your standing before God is what is important. God highly values our submitting to his arrangement, even if we're married to the worst of men who wields his husbandly power in a manner not befitting someone professing to be a Christian. In fact, it means even more to him because we're having to endure hardship because of attempting to be faithful to him...its a sacrifice on our part.

Oh women are considered equal to men, it is the customs and rules of men that enable people to see women as the weaker sex.
The bible exalts women and places women in high honour, we are help mates and just because we are not the rulers or leaders of the household does not mean we don't carry great influence.
Christian women should dress modestly... for the very reason that we should not cause any man to commit adultry in his mind... ( Looking at other women in a lustful way) Showing cleavage in church just because you like your outfit, and you want to wear what you want, when you want to, just doesn't cut it... Paul's letters describe women in a derogatory way, so it seems to many people, but we need to consider the environment surrounding the church of that time, there was alot of witch craft going on, and gossip, and Paul wanted no distractions ,there was division in the church and the church was filled with people who professed thier loyalty to Christ, but yet practiced divination... Women were causing great turmoil during those times, and Paul knew that needed to be addressed, it could no longer be ignored.

Nowadays, people in different cultures take the bible as license to treat people they way they want to. They surpress thier opposite sex as a way to dominate, it boils down to again taking the bilbe scripture out of context and twisting it to suit one's ( Thier)own gain...

It seems like you are confusing Christianity with the oppressave way that women are treated under Islamic law: I am a 56 year old woman, and yes(((,I was a Christian preacher ))) in a Pentecostal church:
No man told or tells me what to wear.
I wear what I fell is appropriate for me.

Men full of the spirit of God leads as the lord our god. women are not equal for woman was made second to man. Women were made as help mates for the lord god knew that men could not be alone. it is religious men which mistreat women, not real men full of the spirit of god. For god will not hear the prayers of men who mistreat women, the rules are very clear, love her as Christ so loved the church, that he gave himself for her. Women are the weaker vessel for woman was first to take the apple from the serpent. if you believe what men do is wrong then pray to our god for this is the order: God, Men, Women. I know that it is difficult for women are indeed strong for i was raised by my mother however god is a god of order and please, do not lust to take the place of men. For the lust of power got the devil condemned to an eternity in hell and the last thing we need is for women to lust for power, we have to deal enough of this foolishness from men, god please not women too.
Soldiers do not make the rules, we obey them, so you fight not against man but god and the battle is already won. And it brings me great sorrow for the men of the church are ambassadors of his love, i will pray, consider it done.

I am a Christian woman and I do whatever I want to do. I answer to God for my sins, and no one else. What is it that has driven you to this conclusion? Unless it's some kind of religious cult, Christian women are some of the most well-treated women I know.
