from an atheist viewpoint: This is a psychological problem here. When you pray you try to not think about things that are impure, in your case sex, so you end up thinking about it more.
Try keeping your eyes open, for just a few prayers or until the images stop. By trying so hard to not let your mind wonder you are doing the opposite
Hope this helps

Jayelle has a good suggestion and I have another one: meditate in between prayer times. DO NOT continue inflicting pain on yourself. Call the disturbing images into your mind while you aren't praying, look at them and let them go. It is your fear of your own mind that is causing you a problem. If you learn to control your mind by meditating, you can stop being afraid of yourself. When unpleasant thoughts arise during meditation, stay calm, don't judge yourself, just look at them and let them go as you ask yourself "I wonder what I'll think of next?"

Ok, this is not normal, and I do believe that it is the enemy that is doing this God's word says to talk to the mountain (which meaning the source of the problem) and tell the enemy, "you are no longer going to put these images in my mind while in prayer!! (yell at him if you like)" you have no control over me or my thoughts in the name of Jesus!!!" then ask God to take these thoughts captive you have to speak to things that are not as though they are you can also say to yourself "I no longer have these images no more my walk with God is closer, stronger and more intense every day!!" declare it and I too will pray for you God Bless!

That's just it! It is your behavior and mindset that causes this.
That's the irony of denial. If you try to force sexuality out of your mind, it will only come out more forcefully.
Sex is like sleeping and eating. It's fundamental to all mammals, and humans especially. If you make yourself to ignore it, your body will remind you of it rather forcibly.
Like eating and sleeping, too much sex on the mind can't be good for you.
But also like eating and sleeping, you can't avoid it and stay sane at the same time.
There's no shame in pornography and masturbation.
But even if you can't get yourself to accept those things, there is one thing about yourself that you must accept: you are, fundamentally, a sexual being, because you are human. You have certain biological needs and desires that will never go away (at least, not until you hit menopause).
It is only after you accept these things that they will stop forcing themselves into your mind.

i really salute ur Courage and Bravery to come forward and say that secret about urself. but i would still ask you to pray -- and when you pray try reading verses that will give you strength and courage to face the situation. and try indulging ur self in some activities like gardening or sewing or reading books or music. by doing that u will find urself busy and thinking lesss about anything else.also try speaking about urfeelings to someone -- say best freind or better write it in a book. this way ur emotions will vent out.
also please dont hurt urself -- that will give you only temprorary releif. so try keeping urself busy. and i am very glad that u have stood up for urself, ur grace and womanhood and ur dignity. Salute to that.
hope i helped. have a nice day.

There's an exercise in psychology 101 classes. You're told not to think of a pink elephant, over and over. Students almost inevitably wind up thinking of...pink elephants.
By making yourself focus on what you don't want to do, you are inevitably focusing on it--does that make sense?
So laugh at yourself, and think to yourself, "Okay, but I'm praying now." I bet you'll find yourself thinking these thoughts less and less.

wear the helmet of salvation to guard you against the fiery darts of the devil. Read and pray, ask the lord to crush the images which plaque you and bring every thought into captivity. Rebuke the evil in the name of Jesus, stand not by your strength but by the strength of the lord our god. For the images are to bring curiosity and curiosity brings sin which separates you from the lord our god. live fully in the spirit and lean not on your understanding let every thing you are and all that you know be given from Jesus and not from yourself. Pray so that you may not enter into temptation, tell god you need help, seek him and tell him all that is on your mind. Every thing, and ask that he expose the sin that may be hiding inside, perhaps you don't see it but the devil certainly sees the sin hiding inside.

Whatever works.......I think praying about it is a great idea. Usually you don't have images in your head that you didn't put there....dwell on etc. Keep working on it. You will succeed if you are really trying.
