The mental card isn't the worse thing in the world. When I was in so much physical pain and mental anguish as to be imprisoned in my own body it didn't matter which got me the disability social security I needed to stop work and still survive financially, not that social security pays much. I am both physically disabled and mentall/emotionally disabled but it was the mental which was approved first in the disability process.

Some people just aren't healthy and that tears at the mental/emotional processes as well. Please don't be ashamed of your illness. You are not the only one who suffers. You may need to rest if you ever want a chance to be functional again. And be patient. Doctors may not be understanding about the weed (and other stuff) due to their own legalities though I understand completely due to the nausea I had with constant migraines. I wish you all the best and promise to keep you in my prayers.

i just kind of stumbled on this question.. i want to say that I am in no way an expert but I just want to reach out to you and give you hope. I too know what it is like to be at the 'end of my rope' and have even been admitted to psych wards after suicide attempts. My problem is different where as there are and were actual physical sicknesses that were driving me crazy and I couldnt take them anymore. Your illness should be treated just as serious as a 'physical' problem. I think that by you taking steps to check yourself in somewhere and get help it says a lot about you. You don't WANT to be how you are, it just is how it is. And you coming on here and asking for help and advice says that you care about yourself even though you say you hate yourself. From my perspective, i would say that you definately need to focus on healing yourself now... it is time to put everything else on hold and figure out how to get well. Make sure that you are getting help with the right people too. Do you have good insurance? If so do some research and find the best help available. Also, you need to take a stand and decide that it is not helping when you use coke, speed and yes.. even weed. Make a stand and push forward. You have already started to reach out so dont stop now! I know that sounds like a cheezy pep talk but it's not meant to be. Just try to become as honest and open as possible with professionals and even everyone who wants to help you. I am not some lame psychiatrist just saying generic stuff, I am a 31 yr old former pro skatebaorder. Hang on, ok?

You may have a physical problem like a stomach lesion or an ulcer. Are you making yourself puke or are you just sick to your stomach all the time. The alcohol probably aggravates your problem. I have had ulcer problems before and I puked all the time till I got it treated. Its probably good you're going to the clinic if only for the substance abuse problem but I wouldn't overlook a possible underlying physical condition.

Have you considered contacting your GP. Most if not all surgeries now offer a confidential counseling service. I know that for true because I've had to use it! If the person you speak with is unable to help they have avenues of referral that you could explore. The positive in this is that you've identified that you need assistance - so seek as much as you need to get yourself back and track and stop beating yourself up!

Find a good Doctor and Psycologist. You have a mental disorder that may be cause by chemical imbalance. Speed and coke may actually be causing it to worsen. You are probably doing yourself a favor by checking in that friday. Like any addiction or lack of self esteem it requires outside help. Kudos to you for realizing that. You are on your way to recovery~!

all that puking will cause jaundice and rot your teeth. eventually taking all these drugs won't help and then what will you do? you should get help at a long term facility. my friend went through this and it took her a long time to stop the puking, it nearly killed her and she hid it so well until she was sent to the ER. We noticed her skin yellowing and her teeth looked nasty. please get the help you need so you can overcome this..keep your head up and dont feel like you can't live without the drugs, and the puking, because you can. You just gotta take it one day at a time and go through detox. Good luck, I really hope you get through this successfully.

Sounds tough. Have you gone to a psychologist? Tried hypnosis? If the answer is yes and that has not worked and this is serious have you gone to church and gave God a chance? It may sound foolish but he is the one that that does the impossible
