Till the 15th centuary the Earth was supposed to be flat and upholded by the Church and many scientist who argued against the notion then were enlightened by thr Roman Catholic Church by the stake and other such measures.
In modern times evolution as a concept has been discovered and it is supported by tonnes of facts. But christians are arguing that the proofs are inconclusive and Evolution is lies.
So my question is that are the evidences and facts which support evolution inconclusive and not as clear and apparent as our earth being round?

The fact that the scientific community almost completely agrees with evolution is enough to convince me that it happened.

But here's the kicker: Even if evolution WASN'T true, it wouldn't prove creationism as told by the Bible, it would prove... something else. That's what people don't understand. The creationists go out of their way to bash evolution, but even if they were RIGHT, science would just latch onto some other theory. Creationism is unprovable, untestable, unobservable, unfalsifiable, and will never be accepted by science for those reasons. Granted, I am still very confident that evolution happened, but it's not like scientists are going to start promoting Intelligent Design if it's ever determined that evolution isn't valid.

Uhm. . . just for the record, the earth was not generally thought to be flat by most people throughout history. For proof- do statues of Atlas hold a table, or a globe?

Most Christians aren't against the theory of Evolution, BTW. It's a very loud and vocal minority. Squeaky wheels, and all that.

The way science works is we take what we know, believe what is supported by evidence, end continuously use the scientific method to discover new things. We never run out of things to discover. At present, the evidence supports the theory of evolution pretty conclusively. Therefore, that is the view I currently hold. (This does not mean I disbelieve in the divine) It may happen, however, that science will turn something up in the future that contradicts this view, or elaborates upon it. As thinking people, we have to be ready for this eventuality, lest we be like the people in Galileo's day who believed in the Copernican cosmos when faced with irrefutable evidence against it.

The Theory of Evolution is quite a bit more subtle and complex than the Theory of the Spherical Earth. One picture of the Earth taken from the Moon spoke a million words and probably convinced all but a few loony die hards. It's not likely we'll get an equivalent picture to "prove" evolution.

No, it's quite possible that it requires willingness to study biology and evolution for at least a few months in order to appreciate just how solidly of a Theory it is. This is no doubt one reason fundamentalists don't want Evolution taught in high schools, because consciously or subconsciously, they are afraid to let their children get an objective education in Evolution.

Science has noticed that the person that built the Great pyramid knew the earth was round, the measurements of it are proportional to the exact size of the earth.

Its believed that Seth the son of Adam built the pyramid to store the knowledge of his kind, there is still more to learn from it. It was built around 4000BC and the Egyptians copied it by building the other pyramids, so we knew the world was round at 4000BC.

So far they have only studied how the Africans evolved, why? Maybe it's because the Caucasian race just seemed to pop up out of no where, creation?

When is science going to start studying where the other races came from? At the same time Lucy was starting to walk upright there were already other people all over the world, 35000 years ago. Anthropologist have found foot prints in ash in Mexico that is 35000 years old.

There were different species of people all other the world at the same time, this is a known fact. But so far they only concentrate on the African species, maybe because they never left Africa so it's easier to track them around the lower part of the continent.

The other races roamed all over the world. We are still adventures, to other worlds soon.

Contrary to what many creationists and religious people would seem to think, being an evolutionist does not imply you are a scientist, with a degree in anthropology, biology, sociology and history. So, I wouldn't know myself. But I did hear a scientist say that the great majority of all scientists are taking evolution to be a definite and well proven fact.

Evolution is only a theory. That means it's only an idea because there is no direct evidence to prove it as fact. The idea of the earth being round is a fact, as we have actually taken pictures of it from space. I'm not saying evolution is not true. It could be true, but the evidence is not sufficient yet.

Over time, the Luddites will be proven wrong by the plethora of fossil evidence that evolution did indeed occur. Saying it didn't with more fuss and more loudly than the confident and sedate scientists does not change the facts.

The view from space does give Earth the appearance that it's round!

Creationism is based on Faith and the ancient writings of human beings, and evolution is based on hard material fact and evidence directly traceable in time lines over millions and billions of years. There are those who believe in Faith, and those who believe in Evolution. Live and let live, I say. Those who try to convince you of their beliefs, and damn you if you dont agree with them, just cant find anything better to do.

Actually, the Earth is flat and sits on the back of four elephants that stand on a giant turtle.
