Civil Engineer, because their responsibility is much higher for any project. Of course their $$$ is higher, and they can afford for a better living eg, driving mercedes, bmw, wearing good watches and so on.

Your question is wrong and in poor taste.

People dont respect an Electrical or Civil trade, they respect teh person for being a good engineer, ordont respect because he is not a good engineer.

Any discipline of engineering is good as long as you are good at your work.

Yeah - interesting discipline?? Well, I am an Electrical Engineer, and hence I possibly would be biased, but I would say, Civil might be more interesting, since atleast you will physically be able to see what you design. Electricity can only be felt, not seen.

I believe electrical engineers are more respected by the general public. Civil engineers are thought to only build buildings, roads and dams. These activities are not considered very mysterious or difficult.

Few of the general public really understand anything about electricity or electronics. It is all a mystery. They think anyone who can master these "mysteries" is really intelligent and to be held in high regard.

Those of us who know better realize that civil engineering is much more than just building stuff and electrical engineering isn't nearly as mysterious as many think.

My highschool physics teacher (a civil engineer himself) once said: "Civil engineering isn't *really* engineering". He didn't seem to have a very high opinion of it himself.

I'm going to say electrical, but then i'm an electrical engineering major. Respect is irrelevent anyway; you should do what you enjoy.

Civil engineering is much more broad then electrical, Many engineering disciplines are involved in Civil, General engineering, Structural engineering, Fire protection engineering, Geotechnical engineering,Transportation engineering, Environmental engineering, Hydraulic engineering,
Water resources engineering ,Construction engineering, Materials science and Surveying.
However I find electrical engineering to be quite stimulating and more focused, I know Civil Engineers, they tend to be the 'Jack of all Trades, Master of none types. Just too much ground to cover to be really detail oriented, it's more of a just make it work scene.

It's not about respect. I'm currently working on my Bachelors in civil engineering, so my opinion might be biased. Electrical engineer is a harder, more intense profession to get into. Civil engineers have a bigger range of jobs to get into....like bridge design, structure design, road, sewage, dams, airports, trains, basically anything you find in a city. Salary wise, electrical engineers can earn more than civil engineers, but it all depends on how well u perform ur duty.

I don't think one is respected more than the other. The one which is more interesting is the field which interests you most.

But electrical engineers rely on electricity being around while even in the pre-electricity ancient Rome, civil engineers had jobs.

electric powered engineering is in all probability the best because it fairly is barely that;electric powered Engineering. Mech engineering covers such a extensive container of interest from engines to bridges and each little thing in between. the two require a extreme degree of maths wisdom as somewhat some the classes are extra like utilized maths.

Electrical is much difficult because your working with something that you cant see.. Thats what i've heard from some of the Electrical engineers that i know.
