Some say the USA should invade North Korea and Iran before they both, or one of them, detonate a satchel nuclear bomb in New York or Washington. Or both.
Some say that invading Afghanistan has made the world safe for . . . cheap heroin. And that invading Iraq has made the world safe for . . . militant Islam. And that there's no defense to either.
What I can say is that everything Bush does has unintended consequences his genius advisors never thought of. Especially with respect to the economy: with the national debt owed to China, etc., and ballooned by the cost of wars, there will be a classic economic disaster. The dollar will depreciate. The next generation will have to pay interest on the debt and China will buy US assets -- land, factories -- cheap.
Only unlike the last time (Vietnam) it won't be paid for by women entering the work force and by efficiencies from computerization. And globalization means there is no defense.
But what do I care. I live in Europe. One doesn't have to fit one of your categories of political dogma to see the future as it will be.

I saw NOTHING wrong with going after the Taliban in Afghanistan. I am still not sure why we started a bogus war in a lightly defended country that had nothing to do with 9/11.
Thanks to the Neocon enablers and the " decider " , we have created a magnet and training ground for terrorists. We can figure out a way to leave now or get pushed out at greater cost later - but this war is a lost cause.

Whoa,,, you are a little confused there.
Liberals say that Iraq was a mistake,,, not all say get out of Iraq. Some of us believe in the old statement that if you brake something - you own it, so fix it.
I think you will be hard pressed to find many liberals that want us out of Afghanistan,, but what you will find is a lot of liberals that believe that all those troops in Iraq should have been sent to Afghanistan instead.

You're right but the liberals are too busy kicking the Pres's butt to get beyond their political agenda and realize we are in a war we can't avoid, a war wider than Iraq and Afghanistan. If we come home, the bad guys follow . . . in large numbers, to perform greater damage here. It's better to keep 'em busy abroad and, hopefully, bring about democracy in Iraq. Let's pray we're right. By the way, I like your English.

Yeah... Guess we should.. Camp out by Bush's ranch and demand peace and no more wars with Cindy Sheehan and pretend like we are the only person who has ever lost a child in a war. (sarcasm) Lets welcome illegal immigrants with open arms and give them jobs over legal Americans.
I served my country, went to the gulf twice and would do it again in a heartbeat. We helped them so much, so much more than the liberal news and medial depict... it's really sad. You can't just leave something because it's not going well, and no one can predict a war, it's just better to try to finish it out instead of giving up for the sake of giving up.

well, i'm liberal and fully support the mission in afghanistan, so basically you're wrong already. and as for iraq, i have a problem with interfering in the politics of another country just to suit us, and with our government lying about why we are going to war and not having a plan about how we are going to get in and out fast. according to bush, in iraq it's "mission accomplished" and according to cheney, the insurgency was over more than a year ago. and as far as a general policy, i think we should remember that we are fighting for america the land of freedom and human rights, and also that in order to win we have to fight an idea, rather than people or an organization. right now we are creating terrorists faster than we are killing them, that's not working. we aren't just fighting bin laden or al-qaeda, but we're fighting a belief system. you can't win a war against a belief system just by dropping more bombs

The liberals want to send a nice little card along with a fruit basket asking the terrorists not to kill anymore of our people....and if an attack does happen, we're suppose to run and hide under a table...c'mon, isnt that enough from them?!lol, thats the dems for ya!

that question is like detonating a bomb that destroys a city and then trying to figure out how to diffuse the bomb. The appropriate question should be how can we as a country end this diasterous excuse for a war and keep our dignity while saving the lives of the young men and women serving in the middle east.

Maybe we should be fighting the real al-Qaeda & the Taliban (those who harbored the Taliban), those who attacked us on 9/11.
The only way to do that is be in Afghanistan. Get your facts straight about where the 9/11 terrorists are & were (not Iraq) before you post.

You have to have some imagination to find a solution to problems, ones that work that is. But, just go ahead and continue butting up against reality. Someday you will suddenly realize that it hurts! Not much use even trying to explain anything to you.
