I've only recently starting playing golf (this year), and am having terrible trouble chipping on to the green. My driving and putting are okish (for someone who's been playing for the length of time I have been), but my chipping absolutely sucks.

How do I improve it?

Two quick and easy tips.
You have to hit down to make the ball go up. You need a more descending and steeper swing to chip the ball and let the loft of the club do the work.
Second try chipping with a putting stroke, Firm wrists and arms straight back and straight through by rocking the shoulders.
You just took 5 stroke off your score.

Have you tried locking the index finger of your top hand between the little and ring fingers on your bottom hand together [to give a more secure grip on the club]? If you're getting serious it might be time to see a pro' at the golf club where you play. Hope this helps.

Lean all your weight onto your left foot, if you are right handed, line the ball up with your right heel, keep your head steady, rock you shoulders back and forth like you are putting, don't ever ever look up. If you have trouble with looking up, point your nose at the back of the ball and swing the club past your nose.

Let Your Body Control the Swing
Let your body, not your hands and arms, control the pace of your down swing and follow through. Your belly button should be facing the target when you finish. Key on turning your shoulders back and through, while keeping your hands quiet throughout the swing.

i think you are "looking for results too soon" hence the blading

if you keep your head down and stay in the shot you will be fine.
try to get the club under the ball and let it do the rest

golf is a game where you should not get too focused on.. if you become tooo focused on your shot you will mess up. look at your target once and then hit
