A careful study of the way the Earth is now,
combined with study of how materials behave. Many tens of millions of years ago, there were once some continental shelves, much like those of today. Sediment piled onto them, as sediment does today. Fish lived and died, and got buried in the sediment, just like today. As sediment accumulated on top, the
lower sediment got heated and compressed, and was turned into rock.
What next? Continental drift, you do believe in Earthquakes, with some crust plates running into each other. This sediment got squeezed between two continents, or was lifted up as an ocean plate was forced downward (both processes happen), than the fish fossils get carried with the rock to high altitudes. Thus, fish fossils in high mountains.
why was so much of the Earth's crust set up to look as
if this flood never happened?

LMAO - good one. Oh, I'm laughing too hard to answer..."why was so much of the Earth's crust set up to look as
if this flood never happened?" What the heck is THAT about? Set up? You think while you were asleep in the night, a bunch of scientist snuck out and "set" that up? The earth just... oh, forget it. I don't have the desire to explain continental drift and plate tectonics tonight. www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/geology/ tectonics.html

I think the flood describes our current earth much better than anything else. If u had flat land and an enormous amount of weight was thrust on it, such as a giant deluge of water from above the earth, then part of the land would be pushed down and part would be pushed up forming mountians. 75% of the Earth is covered in water some of it several miles deep. Genesis 1; 7 talks about a division of waters between the expanse which God called heaven in verse 8. Now, it never rained before the flood but moisture would rise out of the ground as a mist in Genesis 2; 6. Now this would make this water shield around the earth like a giant greenhouse and thus there would be uniform tempatures. Once this was gone it would cause massive freezing at the poles and hot tempatures at the equator. This would explain why there have been animals found perfectly frozen with grass still visible in their stomachs. As far as the fish go, u have your theory, but i think the flood has been proven , especially with the variety of flood legends around the world, just like a previous answer said.

Mountains were once flat land. There are various forces that push up the surface in some areas to form mountains and lower other areas. Noah's flood couln't possibly have occurred, because geologists find no evidence of one. There is not enough water to submerge all land. One must thus find other explanations besides the imaginary Noah's Deluge.

Actually, there is lots of geological evidence there was a flood. and the land mass did move. It moves even today. Can you explain why the bones of many types of dinosaurs accumulate in one place, much the same we see when a mass of animals drown in rivers? the corpse tend to flow to one place. This is what happen when the dinosaurs drowned in the flood.

The earth has to have been flooded more recently than tens of millions of years ago. Doesnt the sphinx in egypt show signs of water damage? Ancient egyptians didnt live that long ago.

Just because the water surface was much higher than today.
The flood couldn't last that long for fish to live.
Meteor would have made tidal waves that threw fish up the mountain.
Actually, I think you are such a mad person. You explain things very scientifically, but your hypothesis is just plain stupid.

Your "evidence" dose not prove or disprove The Flood... just an understanding of geological processes... so you pass Junior high general science.... but not Chrisian Apologetics... i personaly do not get in to such never ending debates...

a meteor could have also caused tidal waves, they once believed that all the land was connected until the meteor hit causing the ocean level to rise, tidal waves etc... anyway Im not disprooving the theory that floods like that existed because thats a prooven fact, but it doesnt neccesarily proove it was the flood mentioned in the bible

Just about every religion and culture has a flood story. So there was a flood at one time, that we can be certain of. Whether it was God and Noah is an entirely different story.
