I was surprised to see how many of you had met with someone. I have not. To my surprise many of you have good stories about it. A grand ending to anything warms my heart! thanks.

I met my husband by doing an aolim search. I'm from Texas and he's from Memphis, TN. I imed him years ago and asked how he got his screenname (it's odd). I was 18 and he was 16. We talked on and off for a few years, nothing serious, but after a while, we talked more often. My boyfriend and I broke up, and his girlfriend had dumped him, and we talked more. Then I was going to move to a state further away, and he ignored me for a few days. When I called him on it and asked why he was ignoring me, he said "Because I love you and I don't want you to go", so of course, I immediately called him. We talked a lot (got in trouble A LOT over astronomical phone bills), and a few months later, I Greyhounded it to Memphis. We went on one date, and he asked me to marry him. Two months later, I moved up there, and the next year we were married. We had a lot of problems for a long time, resulting from the rushed relationship, but now we're in love and doing better than ever.

My friend actually met him in a chatroom and she had me IM him to see if he was online... I don't know we (my friend and I) were both kind of AIM challenged as we just started using it and going online. We talked, met, fooled around at the movie theater, did the same at his house a few times afterwards and then I ended it because I got with someone else. A few years and people later, I reached out to him for comfort, we hooked up again, and more than a year later, we're still together <3
But I do NOT recommend this. I was young and stupid but got lucky that he was a good guy. There are LOTS of freaks lurking about online.

Ya, I once met a girl on the internet that I met in person. She was pretty cool, good looking, and we had chatted on and off for a few months. We got together and went out for dinner/drinks. When we met, she looked like her pics, so that was a relief. We had a good time. After the first time of getting together, we chatted some more but she started getting wierd. I ended up having to ignore her on chat, because she was starting to freak me out. Was fun while it lasted.

i met an asian girl in NYC when i was there. She turned out to be really nice and we still talk. But i only did that because i am a guy and i do crazy stuff sometimes. If i were a girl i would be reluctant. But there are decent people online also. Its not as weird as it used to be.

that is a very good question. because i just joined and i would like to know myself. i did meet a guy through a singles thing on the internet though.... and he turned out to be one of the best people in my life. we didn't stay together but we are dear friends and we learned alot from each other.

yes, have meet a lot of them, and Im dating one now, seriously dating, may soon be living together, its no differant than meeting anywhere else, some you like, some you dont...most of the girls I have meet have been on the heavy side, but then most girls are that way everywhere, so it just a segment of the population, just make the first meeting in public,,, to be safe....

yes, very possible!!! i met my husband in the chatroom, and decided to met me in person after 6 months.....but that was like 6 years ago!!!!! wherein people in the chatroom are more friendly...gentleman!!!! now, chatting is more on a game to them...a past time!
