There are litterally thousands of wonderful names out there for a dog.

This site has thousands of wonderful names that you may want to look into. I personally love this website, as you can find almost anything you ever wanted to find, and many names and ideals that you didn't even know existed.

More specifically, you may want to consider this site, that lists girl names that mean Golden in various languages.

At the bottom of that page are links to other color names, like yellow and red would also probably fit well.

Naming a pet is an extremely personal thing, as you are the one who will have to live with and call the pet at all hours of the day and night, so make sure the name you choose is something you like, somehting you can prounounce easily, and something you and the other members of your household agree upon, because they will be involved in the dogs life too. In other words, take some time and consider everyeone involved in the dog's life to give their input on the dogs name. A few tips are to stay away from words that are super common in everyday language. Try not to use a word that would sounds super similar to a negative word. For example, it's best not to name your dog Bo becuase Bo rhymes with and sounds like No! which is a negative and could confuse the puppy. Also consider things like other words you will use to communicate with your dog, like commands (sit come stay) because words like Stay are similar to the names Stacy or Stanley. Do not name your dog a word that is considered profanity or obscenties, or any word you would be afraid to say to a stranger or your grandma. You will have to tell people the dog's name, and you will have to call it's name when it's outside, so don't use something that will embarass you in all the situations you may come across. Good luck on finding the perfect name, and let us know if you already have!

i think Roxie (or Roxy) is a cute name for female dogs. i love dog names that end in the -ie sound because it seems like you can come up with so many cute nicknames. also i knew a golden retriever named roxie so i've always associated that name with that dog, and she was adorable.

spend some time with your puppy and soon enough the right name will come to you!
