The only difference would be which words are contained on the monuments Christians keep trying to force into public. No-one cares what the 10 commandments say, not even the people who idolize them care what they say.

Jesus said the greatest commandment encompassed BOTH of these--we can't love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength if we put other gods before Him, and Jesus said we are also to love our neighbor as ourselves (Luke 10:25-37). We can't just discard one or the other. The world would be a different place if people decided to seek God instead of themselves, but unfortunately that's not happening often enough.

I don't think the world would be any different. There is a commandment saying don't cheat on your spouse but people do that constantly. People will live their lives the way they want to, no matter what religion says.

God has prevalent the management quite a few government: Elders interior the church, Husbands interior the marriage, and fogeys interior the family individuals. on your particular case, mum and dad are given the cost and the authority to steer the family individuals and to instruct the youngsters to love and obey God. self-discipline is a needed component to that coaching. Your authority stops if and while it ever contradicts Scripture. You did not scouse borrow it by way of fact: a million) you probably offered it besides 2) you meant to return it after a quick volume of time The golden rule says "love one yet another as you're able to have them love you." The lesson is that "loving" means to furnish the guy what they "prefer", not inevitably what they "prefer". to that end your daughter needed to be taught self-discipline and to appreciate your authority extra that she needed to have relaxing misbehaving and twiddling together with her toy. in spite of if, i ought to renowned your daughter for a fashion she argues. She is rapid-witted and exceedingly intelligent. You asked what overrules what. the ten commandments could be summarized as "Love God" and "Love your Neighbor". Paul additionally stated in 1Cor 13:13 that "love" is the superb. hence, you should ask your self "Am I showing love for Christ and for my daughter by using disciplining her?" while you're in simple terms indignant and being mean then i could say "no". while you are trying to instruct her a existence lesson that could honor Christ, then i could say "confident".
